This place is unpretencious, and welcoming, the staff are very friendly, and the food is home made. Decour is lots of warm wood and charming, there is an atmosphere like a softly bubbling brook, very pleasant, menu choice varies, food is good, but the wines are questionable, Hope this has been of some help for you...

Cycling through Viehhofen we decide to stop for lunch. What a find, just off the main street slightly up the hill. We sat outside on the sunny terrace and were we had a toastie and a turkey steak. Both we beautifully presented and served by an extremely pleasant waiter.Will definitely be back.

So it takes a bit of effort to ski to this restaurant as you run out of slope and have to side step up, or as I did, take your skis off and walk the rest. We only wanted a hot drink each, but we were served by a very brusque and unfriendly waiter who when my husband asked if we could pay by card - told us âno, anything less than 40 Euroâs you must pay by cash onlyâ then proceeded to get a menu and point his finger at the notice in the menu. My husband gave him a note which was snatched from his hand immediately ....... awful carry on Mr Waiter, if I were you, Iâd get another job where you donât have to deal with the public ...... There are loads of lovely restaurants around Schmitten so donât waste your time stopping here ....
