âDa Pietroâ is not original given that it is run by Austrians rather than Italians. Furthermore, its decoration bears more resemblance to a typical Carinthian than to an Italian restaurant. But apart from that it is quite authentic. There are even the traditional Grissini breadsticks on the table. At any rate, âDa Pietroâ is much more than an average suburban pizzeria. The dining room is comfortable but rather small. Thus, there is not much space between the tables. Service was professional and speedy although we arrived at the peak of the lunch time on a Saturday, when almost all outside seats were occupied. Since âDa Pietroâ claims its pasta to be home-made and to have expertise on preparing fish, we ordered a pasta dish and two different fish dishes. Unfortunately they have (at least on Saturdays) no menu or specialties of the day, so that one may choose only from the fairly comprehensive permanent menu. It comprises for the most part pretty ordinary Italian dishes, nothing really exceptional. While the pasta dish was fatty and not very tasty, we found both kinds of fish perfectly alright. Apparently the kitchen staff does not care much about decorating the dishes somewhat. Portions ranged from medium-sized to big, thus a main dish alone may not in all instances be sufficient for somebody who is really hungry.Staff was friendly and competent and so service left nothing to desire. "Da Pietro" is not a place for somebody trying to find the find the cheapest pizza in town, but we considered the prices to be fair for a restaurant of this decent level.

The restaurant was very busy and the service was slow - not to order but to receive the food. I had the mushroom goulash with dumplings but the goulash was not the best and the dumplings were rather heavy. Everyone else had something Italian with shellfish or the risotto, which I was told was a bit over cooked. Not too expensive considering the location.

Outside tables were at premium at lunchtime, but we could snaffle one of the last tables under a sun umbrella; on this day the Klagenfurt sun was sometimes for a short time interspersed interrupted with one or two drops of rain. Looking around the busy restaurant terrace and noticing that almost every guest rose from the table between 12.55 and 13.00, we concluded that local office workers were the bulk of the customers. The pasta was well prepared; service was matter-of-fact. There was some disagreement with the proprietor, when the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese turned out to be very young and tasteless Grana, but overall the food was very satisfactory. To be recommended.

The food was average, always missing something. Soup was too salty, potatoes were cooked with no taste and strange consistency, etc. Don't expect miracles here.

I must confess to a guilty passion for the Austro-German cuisine. However, after a week or two, it becomes necessary to seek out an occasional alternative to hefty meat dishes. In the past, I have often passed by this Italian restaurant, partly because of its small size and unusual opening hours. This year I have been more adventurous and gave it a go. I enjoyed the fresh bruschetta followed by spaghetti (didn't seem home made) in a sauce of shrimps, tomatoes and cream. The dessert was an Egyptian dish because this was the theme for the restaurant at this time. Everything was fine but overpriced rather than over-impressive. I would certainly give it a go.

We enjoyed this restaurant on the recommendation of Italian friends and were very happy with the choice. We started with a couple of beers and bruschetta, which was very fresh and filling. Then, split two different pizza, one being their traditional white pizza. I would highly recommend if you are in the area and want really delicious pizza.

Located so close to the airport, I came here one day for late lunch after a long morning meeting nearby. My local contacts seemed to know the owner of this restaurant and they were greeted with cheek kisses on both side. When we arrived, our table was ready and promptly got seated at the corner. They have English menu available but server doesn't speak or understand English fully. I did my usual by pointing at the food I wanted to order, server compared to German menu to understand which food I wanted. We started with a couple of appetizers. Bruschetta was very good. Olive oil used was amazingly good. High quality olive oil. Sample appetizers came with Caprese, Prosciutto, thin slices octopus to name a few. I really liked this octopus. Some at my table couldn't accept the idea of eating octopus, so I kindly thanked them and ate most of them on the plate. For main, I ordered grilled Dover sole. It was cooked perfection, bones came out easily, I ate the whole fish very quickly. I wish I knew the type of olive oil they used.. Loved it so much, would have brought home if possible. Perhaps next time if that happens.I was told pizza here is good as well. Pizza served here was 12 inch (30cm), some on our table ordered pizza and they all seemed pleased.

Since we had lunch at âPrincSâ on a Saturday, there was, of course, no menu of the day but only the regular menu. However, we were surprised to be informed by the friendly waiter at the very beginning that pizzas and a few other dishes on the regular menu would only be available âlaterâ, which might presumably have meant âin the eveningâ. We did not know whether this was always the case or was due to some kind of technical problem in the kitchen. At any rate, this reduced the choice of dishes to be had to a few pasta, wok and salad dishes, some of them vegetarian, but the majority with meat.We were seated in the stylish restaurant area, which seemed to have been refurbished recently. Its design dominated by various shades of beige and brown was fairly sober. The tables were laid with white tablecloths and the room looked quite elegantly. Both the salad with beef and the vegetarian wok we had were nicely dressed and were served after only a moderate waiting time. There was nothing special about them, but they tasted fine and portions were of ordinary size. Apart from the limited choice of dishes, the only real downside of this restaurant were the prices, which appeared to be somewhat too high for lunchtime, even by city standards.

The name "Osteri" comes from the word "Host", the Innkeeper. An innkeeper knows how to serve guests the best classic dishes typical of the region Veneto. The Osteria Veneta looks like the classic Italian with a heart. The heart of every Osteria is the kit
Because of the excellent reviews we decided to go for dinner. Atmosphere is nice, the menu only in Italian and you need the waiter for translation. However, the waiters are very friendly and helpfulUnfortunately the food was only average, nothing special but also nothing to complain. We just expected more based on the good reviews.

Traveling regularly to/through Klagenfurt, we looked for new experiences, and choose 7. Himmel. It was a good choice. All the food was a la minute, with clear concept, distinguishing taste. The fresh fish portfolio is wide and excellent. We will return.
