Reviews on International food in Vorarlberg, Austrian Alps, Austria. Bristling with beautiful lakes, splashing rivers, rugged peaks and looming castles, Vorarlberg is tucked between Switzerland and Germany. This spirited state is dotted with Bauhaus-inspired architecture, eco-friendly dwellings and tiny towns, bristling with spires. Capital Bregenz is the main draw in this alpine locale. Cobblestone streets and a lovely lakeside setting add to its charms. Renowned for its cheese and dairies, Vorarlberg is also a popular spot for skiing and other winter sports.

Just as remarkable as the architecture are the culinary delights on offer at the Bregenz Festival House restaurant buehnedrei right by the lake. With its clear lines and plentiful natural light, the modern architecture ensures a pleasant ambience for ever
Given there are always 'limitations' to do with delivering good food with 'speed' before a performance at any venue in the world, one could do a lot worse than consider choosing the convenience of dining here beforehand--then only needing to walk a very short distance to the entry of the venue itself! Looks good & a smiling welcome. But ambitions were not quite matched by seamlessness, even though on the whole, the helpful, friendly staff certainly did try!Silly things like beginning the dinner by ordering two starters TO SHARE at a table of six diners..& no individual plates NOR any utensils provided either with which to eat the food nor to dispense it!...& of course an unwanted DELAY ensued. & so having ALSO to ask for condiments, more bread & water..& finally no one alert to us needing to pay the bill to GO promptly all take the gloss of one's dinner experience. My main, two (!) tasty beeksteak pieces , were nearly accurately cooked -- but curiously & disappointingly the chef didn't cook the generous serve of local boiled carrots long enough-- nearly RAW-- but overdid the liquidizing of the mashed potatoes. A bit 'sloppy'.... Others did less successfully ordering the noodles with crispy duck (sounds nice) but Oh NO! ... they had sliced through the (overcooked) noodles like for a child to eat!...& no chopsticks! Another case where Asian food attempted by European cooks rarely succeeds.....too sweet also...Bad choice, that oneNice wine card , prices ok & coffee also ok & came promptly enough... but how frustrating trying to get the bill to pay & leave in good time to use the loo & get seated.

The Ullr, nestled in the heart of Zurs is new on the Arlberg. Away from the dusty guest rooms, folk music and overpriced offers presents the Ullr "shabby chick" with mother's cooking, art and sound of tomorrow. Opened by Armin Krautzer, Barman of the year
The ambiente is cool and really worth visiting. The food was average. in fact the spinach and sauce accompanying the beef (Beiried) was overly salty. The Saibling was average, the chicken was good. Service is good. in comparison to the Lech restaurants the ULLR is average. Prices are moderate.Sehr geehrter Herr Henry Rome!

With its wood paneling, which harks back to old-fashioned farmhouses, the largest of our mountain restaurants provides a cozy chalet atmosphere. Since 1989, Nova Stoba's chef, Kurt Woltsche, has been spoiling guests with international and regional delicac
Had lunch here with my husband who was skiing up here. There is a large terrace outside with music playing and a good atmosphere. We sat inside. There was a great choice of food and drinks. The staff were very organised and everything was in order. It is huge inside and there are T.V.s around with skiing and sport to watch. The food was tasty and the portions were massive. The views are stunning from the top too. Recommend eating here.Servus Tilly, thank you for the nice feedback. We are looking forward to welcome you again in Montafon.

Helpful waiters, a rare commodity in some places, excellent food and such a fantastic setting in a traditional Austrian town square. We were really impressed by Dornbirn as a destination, a little over shadowed by Bregenz and lake Konstanz, but the area has so much to offer a brilliant Rolls Royce Museum and a Gorge of amazing proportions and it looks like some where from Lord of The Rings! So worth a visit

Stayed at the hotel and had dinner at the restaurant. Food was good, service too. Had some exciting wines in the wine list, too. So that part of the experience merits a four, or four plus. Breakfast was Worth five, easily. Super! Fabulous breakfast, best ever! Would go for that alone!

Was recommended by the local and definitely worth the warmest recommendations. Food is excellent, very generous portions with friendly service for a decent price, will be coming back for sure.

We went here for birthday celebrations recently and it was nice. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. I ordered a steak and asked for it to be well done and sadly it wasnât well done at all. I had to ask the waiter to make sure it was well done and then when it came back, it was slightly burnt and our friends were already half way through their meals. We also ordered the garlic bread and only 2 slices were garlic and the other 2 were covered in some kind of tomato purée. It was nice though and pleasant to eat there - a little pricey but nice for a treat every now and then.

I've been there many times already and chef Harald Fink's creations never disappoint. On warm days the terrace, facing away from the street, is a great place to relax and indulge in the food and drinks on offer. The business lunch changes frequently and is an excellent deal, probably the best you'd get for that price in town.

An unexpected late night discovery - as we arrived at our hotel after its restaurant was closed. Top quality food - steaks were fabulous.
