This restaurant is an absolute must if you are after a special meal, but make sure you make a reservation. The restaurant was very busy for a Sunday evening, which was a good sign. The menu is very extensive, with a daily special menu of five courses, which three of our group chose. The courses were just the right size, and decent gaps in between. The food was expertly presented, and the ingredients were of high quality. Everything was just perfect, and none of us could criticise anything. This was quite simply the very best meal I have experienced in Germany, indeed the best meal I have had in a very long time. The environment is delightful, very warm and cosy with lots of atmosphere. I can't wait to return here as often as I can. For the standard of food, the prices are reasonable.

We serve traditional meals, steaks, salads and vegetarian dishes at the Wirtshaus. Large winelist (850 wines). Homemade cakes and strudels, nice terrace, big playground. Near the Ski area. Daily open from 11.30 a.m. till 9.30 p.m.

The Fischerstube has been a favourite place of mine since the 1980s. Recently I returned with my wife and I can tell: little has changed. The food and atmosphere is still as lovely as I remembered it, the people were kind and friendly. After a walk to up to the lake or after some skiing, the Fischerstube is a great place to recharge the batteries and to enjoy a stunning view.

We only stopped here for a coffee and Strudel, both of which were ok but expensive. The service was ok but not particularly friendly, perhaps because this restaurant is always quite busy and so lack of incentive? It has pleasant decor and is very central to Tannheim

We visited this Hotel/Restaurant about a year ago for a light, very late lunch. The food that we ate was very well prepared and presented from very friendly staff. We thought we'd better give it another go for an evening meal. It was not a mistake. The restaurant gives a very cosy impression, old wood, stone floor, interesting historical photos, tasteful decoration. The menu is attractively thought out and not exagerated. We had luck with our waiter, a man who has learnt his trade well and understands how important the details are. Unfortunately there are also several other waiters hovering arround, completely unhelpful and when one does decide to get involved, then you can be sure of foolish mistakes. Important training need. The food, two main courses and two desserts was nothing short of excellent. Good products, well cooked and nicely presented. This restaurant is well worth a visit (or several visits) but do try to get served by experienced staff. It really is worth it. The price is correct.

For those wanting typical Austrian food we found this was one of the best restaurants in Tannheim. Not expensive for both both food and drink, good friendly service, good measures and a nice atmosphere. Worth a visit.
