Restaurants in Maishofen
Me and my girlfriend have just finished eating here. The food is nice in this small restaurant. Service is simple but clean. We ate a big schnitzler and a bigger cordon bleu. They were super. Recommended.

We went here three years ago and loved the food so when we came back this year, it was our second lace to have dinner- we were so sad to wait - they are closed on Tuesday ( our first night) so we had to eat somewhere else on the first night- but it gave us good comparison- this place IMO is first rate. It is in the village so you can walk to it Many rated on TA. are not in the village but in an neighboring village so I think this is good to know. The wiener Schnitzel ( it is pork not veal - it is that way in Austria) is fresh prepared - you can hear them pound the filet in the kitchen). We sat in the protected outside which is charming. Last time DH had Jagerschnitzel and ask to have spaetzle instead of potatoes which was no problem. When I could not eat all of my dinner - they wrapped it up for me to take to the condo. They speak English and are very kind and the service is excellent. This is a family business and the restaurant is connected to the house. I love that. That is why they have longer hours. The people at the next table had pizza ( why in Austria I dont know but hey ) it was generous in size and smelled delicious. The prices are quite reasonable and yup the food was better than our first night hence why we keep coming back and they remember us- probably because we dine early but always happy to see us. BTW - there is photo that shows up - that is the deer stew which looked amazing - i just love schnitzel so have not tried yet.

We ate here quite a few times as it is a favourite with the ski schools so it was great to meet up with the kids at lunchtimes in this beautiful piste-side restaurant. Bar is cosy and warm, food is delish and service is impeccable. Will definitely be back!

The Restaurant Looks very nice, however the Food is nothing exciting. Some dishes like the Kärnter Kasnudeln were frozen (you can get the same in cheap supermarkets) and the side dishes of the Tafelspitz were a shame for an Austrian Restaurant (I am Austrian). The red housewine can not be recommended, however there are some nice bottles in the vine menue.Overall i would not choose to visit this Restaurant again.

During our week skiing in Zell am See we had our best lunch here. The service and staff were impeccable, really welcoming. The food was hearty, freshly cooked local cuisine and all very fresh. The cost was similar to everywhere else on the mountain. Great views over the lake from the outdoor sun terrace. Do make the effort to ski over to here as you won't be disappointed.Thank you very much for the nice assessment :)

Excellent family place. Quiet, friendly service. Not a very extended menu but we all found something we liked. Yours to discover.

During our stay, on the advice of our holiday rep, we decided to visit this restaurant for our lunch. Our first experience was to cross the Lake from Zell am See to Thumersbach arriving at the park on the north end of the village. Our walk took us through the park, across the main road and then a steep climb through woods, fields and along some roads to the Mitterberghof. If the weather allows, you have the most wonderful view back across the lake to Zell while you dine on the terrace in front of the restaurant. We arrived at 1230 and the terrace was nearly full, most of the diners having driven up the hill to find their lunch. We enjoyed a fantastic platter of mixed meats and cheeses and also shared a mixed salad. Service was very prompt and we were met by cheerful staff. Thoroughly recommended but to really enjoy the experience you really need to earn your lunch by walking up from the Lake!
