We happened to pass by this restaurant and were hungry so stopped to eat there. The service was extremely friendly & the food was superb. The Ribs were delicious and other choices were great as well. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for local eating experience!

we visited " Schoergi - Alm " on December 29, 2015... you reach SCHOERGI by taking the Gondola up the mountain, which is a wonderful experience with great views. Once you are up there you will see many Skiers getting ready to go downhill. Schoergi - Alm is located right next to it, they have an outside sun-terrace, where you can sit , soak up the warm sun, have a meal or just a Cappuccino as we did. From here you can watch the Hot Air Balloons and the Gross Glockner Mountain range.Don't miss it when you visit this area it's worth it. The Service is efficient too.

This place saved the day. After arriving late at out hotel (9pm???) and being told no dinner available, it looked like we would go hungry. Then got directed here by a friendly local.Proper Austrian feel to it with half the customers in lederhosen (we think they were all the staff from local hotels and restaurants finishing work), great beer, and decent pizza to boot. They could offer to train the staff at the Wurzer hotel on customer relations. It aint science, but this place gets it right.

This is a few hundred metres from the village centre but certainly worth the beautiful walk. The menu is varied and traditional food of lovely quality. Very reasonable pricing too. Good parking if the walk is too strenuous but care not to miss the signposting on the way up which should not deter you - we have visited for eveniing meal and lunch and both times meals and service were faultless.
A couple of minutes from the centre but a very nice environment. Only a small selection of cakes but the essential apple strudle is there.

My husband and I celebrated our 60th birthday at this quaint restaurant on the mountain. We planned the occasion from our home in South Africa and the evening exceeded our expectations. From the time we were fetched and transported to Sonnenalm we were welcomed as if we were family. Service, incredible food, fun and laughter together with their hospitality made for an evening we will never forget. Each morsel of food was so evidently lovingly prepared and presented. Homemade schnapps, handcrafted puzzle type games, chatting to the family and traditional music added to the magic of the evening. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything. We will dream of the day we can return.

Maestosa Johanna Maier celebrates in the tiny world of a village in Pongau at 1,000 meters altitude the great, grand world of high cuisine.
This place has such a "ruf" or reputation that I simply had to try it, the restaurant itself is beautiful, classy and stylish. The service is excellent if a bit pretentious. The food for the most part lacked that certain something, and I have eaten a number of the best restaurants in Austria, not to mention elsewhere. There is also no set wine accompaniment so you end up paying a small fortune when you have had your aperitif and wine with each course. If I pay a small fortune I expect the best, sadly, this was not the case, my husband was of like mind. There was just something missing, taste wise. otherwise it was lovely.

We have been to Fiakerwirt many times and always return when we are in Filzmoos. It has a fantastic traditional atmosphere. On one occasion, we were even treated to local people singing and playing their harmonicas. Their passion for their horses is in abundance and their dogs often come to greet you. The food is traditionally Austria and is served in generous portions. They also offer horse-drawn sleigh rides to other traditional Austrian mountain hut restaurants through the woods, returning to Fiakerwirt with a much needed schnapps.

The Oberhofalm is at the top of the scenic road from Filzmoos. You are surrounded by rocky peaks. You can get up, even in winter, by car (with great snow tires), by horse drawn carriage, or on foot. We walked and the hike made us ready to eat! The food is wonderful, especially the grilled sausage plate with smashed potatoes and sauerkraut. It was busy when we arrived but quieted by the time we were finished. I only put 4 stars because our server (who is one of the owners) didn't seem all that interested nor attentive. The food was great as were the drinks (hot chocolate with rum and an after-meal schnapps).
