We'd been recommend to eat at Gasthof Walisgaden so our expectations were high. The service was as good as it could be, but the food was below average. Maybe the cook had an off night, maybe they've changed chefs. Either way I can't recommend it. Try Hotel Wallisertrübe down the hill. We had a much better meal there.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. I must say it is really excellent. Very friendly staff, and beautiful roomy quarters. The hotel is situated near the skiroute that leads to the skilift. You only have to walk about 50m to start, skiing in is almost to the ski room. The food is really good, rich morning breakfast and dinner with the most tender meat you'll ever find. Highly recommended.

Same owner as in Aplenhotel Mittagspittze - Ingo Maddlener
This restaurant is 'ski in/ski out' - positioned at the side of the ski slope just before the Uga ski lift. It gets a huge amount of traffic at lunch time and unfortunately the staff can't really cope - in fact they get quite ratty trying to deal with the crowds. If you can get a table the the pizzas are good when they arrive, but again be prepared to wait. There is extensive outdoor seating and this is a good option on a warm sunny day, but again be warned the food takes quite a while to arrive. My best tip - get there before 11.45 am and beat the rush. You'll get a table and your order in before the lunchtime crowds arrive.

Warm atmosphere, lovely service (our waiter Peter was great), decent honest food and good value for money. I was sceptical after reading some of the comments about the quality of the food but I thought what we ate was tasty, filling and exactly as described in the menu. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again. I've attached photos of the food we had for reference to future guests.

Nice restaurant above Sunegg and Damüls that inivites to take a break after a hike in the surrounding mountains. Service is friendly and quick.

Okay, but lacks atmosphere. The bar is austere and the senior staff not very friendly. Did not eat there so cannot comment on food.

My family and I dined here tonight, after having a less than enjoyable experience at another local restaurant a couple of days ago.We were pleasantly surprised that the little cafe we had enjoyed coffee, hot chocolates, and strudel after skiing transformed into a lovely restaurant at night. Our friendly waiter, Tibor, spoke a little English, and helped us work out our drinks and food orders. The drinks arrived quickly and the meals not far behind. The food was superb and easily amongst the best meals we've experienced in the last few weeks of traveling around Germany/Austria. And the price was terrific for the quality and taste of the authentic local food (especially considering that this is a mountain restaurant and in Australia these are like black holes for your credit card). Our waiter advised us that all drinks were available - especially the ONE beer ??? But then provided a lovely wiessbeer. We were pleasantly surprised to be given a jug of TAP water (something that seems a challenge in the part of Europe). We ordered schnitzels, pork steaks with spatzle (a type of Bavarian hand made egg pasta), bratkartoffel (fried potatoes), pork steak and a potato rosti topped with cheese and bacon, beef with onion - all were GREAT!!! But the frustration of seeing other diners STUNNING looking desserts after having eaten MORE than our fills, was way too frustrating - we're going back tomorrow and revising down our food orders in order to allow for dessert. PLUS we'll order the weiss (white) beer - it was much better than the tap beer. A lovely experience! Thank you.

I only regret not coming here during prior trips to Lech. We went to S'Achtele twice over the week for dinner, walking there both times. The Amouse Bouche is really excellent. I can highly recommend the VEAL CUTLET. My wife enjoyed her lamb - twice! The wine selection is dominated by Austrian offerings...worth exploring while in Lech. The service is genuine and friendly and I really liked the atmosphere : No big windows, but nice lighting. The restaurant is not too big, so do reserve!
