on a late sunday morning, when it´s too late for breakfast and no fancy brunch places around, when you feel to sit outdoors and watch beautiful scenery of the inn-valley with its impressivemountains, you follow the scent of freshly roasted suckling pig:and here it is, right at the entrance on a spit: the traditional sunday roast at the ochsenwirt.the service was most friendly, competent and inviting, the seating great and everybody in theoutdoor garden was enjoying themselves.including drinks, beer and three suckling pig roasts the invoice was just euro 40.-excellent value for money!

Settling in for a relaxed meal at the Blau Quelle is like slipping into your favorite slippers, pulling up a comfortable seat, and taking in the splendor of the Alps, while awaiting the best trout meal anywhere! Visiting the Quelle is a lot like "coming home." Our singing divas, both young and old, slipped into a companionable frame of mind while enjoying some of the Tyrol's finest food! Naturally, the forelle blau was perfectly cooked for all of us, and our famous guests were right at home in one of their special places:Austria. Slipping easily into the dialect, they ordered the specialties of the house, poached trout, with a bit of palatschinken as dessert, flambeed with their home made schnapps, apricot filling, etc. The beer and Gruner Veltlener, luscious white wine from the Wachau Valley and with the Quelle's own label now, made for an exciting meal, though super relaxed. Watching the actors coming in for a bite before one of the performances in the Opera Haus, our sopranos and mezzos reminisced about their love for Austria, its people, and especialling its music. From Bayreuth to Vienna, there was no finer place for them to dine than the Blau Quelle that day. Memories are made of this stuff. PS: Dear Struth Family, we shall return in December for your winter goodies! Can't wit to see you and dine with everyone, especially Tante Bergie. She always has that special welcome awaiting the Quelle's guests, and she can give you the best reviews of what to do in this glorious area.Dear RhythmA5678,many thanks for taking your time for this great review and your positive words. We like to hear that you felt well at our restaurant. We like to hear that you honor our hospitality and recognize the high quality of our service and used products. We would like to welcome you very soon again and looking forward to that. With best regards from Erl and from family Gaby & Alex Struth and the entire Blaue Quelle-Team

This restaurant may be in the centre of Kiefersfelden but if you do not know that it is there you will drive through the town and never see it.We have been living in the area for over 2 years and it was just due to our good friend Mr Google, that we found this place. The first night we went the sun was still shining on an early autumn evening and we were able to sit outside in the garden. We were served relatively quickly and the waitress took our order for drinks which arrived at our table within minutes. We then ordered a Pizza for me and Linguine for my wife.About 15 minutes later the dishes turned up. They were definitely worth waiting for. The pizza I had was super. In fact one of the best I have ever had here in Germany. My wife was ranting and raving about her Linguine too, she loved it.In fact we enjoyed our meals so much that I tried another type of pizza with chicken and curry. Not such a good idea as it was not too good but only because of that topping. The first one I had with peppers and salami and ham was brilliant. So the other day we went back and tried the place again. This time they had just opened and we sat inside. There were loads of tables free but the service was very slow indeed. The food was up to the same high standard and this time I had a Pizza Hawaii with onions on it as an extra. For my taste, simply fantastic. My wife tried a pizza this time with rucola or rocket salad and was very impressed. The one thing that let it down was the service. It really took over 15 minutes to get our drinks despite the place being empty. The waiter seemed to be pre occupied with what the owner was talking to him aboutâ¦..Well, I am sure that we will return and I will make my mind up after the next few visits but I do not want to discount this place for the service as the pizzas were just so damned good.

The Schanz,a very popular place among locals, has been around for many years and they have not only maintained their quality of food and service but brought it to a higher level.Excellent food and service plus an outstanding selection of fine wines round up a visit.Great ambiance in a stylish yet relaxing and cheerful Tirolean setting

Living on fresh air and love - it's not possible - but you can try out our inimitable restaurant in Kufstein In an informal, laid-back atmosphere we serve not only original creations from Tyrolean and Viennese cuisine, but also steaks, grilled on hot lava
Of course, the steak made of Austrian beef was great too. Staff very friendly and helpful. The decor is traditional and interesting. But the highlight was for sure the desert Kaiserschmarrn. It was unlike any other that weâd tried in Vienna or other parts of the country. It was not as âfluffyâ as a typical pancake that was made with lots of flour. It had a unique egg taste to it which was to die for. A must try and I wish that the chef never changes his/ her recipe!!!

Went here with a group, which was recommended by our hotel. The overall setting has a relaxing feel, which was perfect after a day of skiing. Everyone enjoyed the food that they ordered. I got their appetizer platter which was a good assortment to try. The only issue is that the food did take a long time to get out. We did have a large group, but it didn't help that there was only one waiter for all of us. If I go again, I might try it with a group of 4-6 people versus 20+.Thank you very much for your recommend. It's not always easy to prepare fresh dishes for a bigger group togheter. We are sorry that you were waiting so long. We should have offer a fixed menu for your group.Sorry.

We stayed in hotel Hödner which is across the street and decided to grab a bite here. The place is typically 'Austrian' and would be really cozy if the lights would be less bright. Apart from that, service is good and the menu has both traditional Austrian dishes as 'normal' ones. Prices are reasonable and quality of food is good. Service is very quick, we got our starter within 5 minutes after ordering and the entree was served shortly after. Would come back here!

For locals this is somewhere you go for a special occassion. It is more modern than country style ( or modern country? ).Food was delicious and some meals in little untypical variations. a Bit more expensive but worth the price for the qualityDear Natascha! Thanks a lot for your awesome evaluation! We appreciated your visit as well and are happy that you liked our interior.See you soon!Greets from Kufstein

Bavarian food
Dropped in here for a meal last night while staying across the road at the Lambacher guesthouse. It was very busy (about 7:30pm on a Saturday night), but the waitress managed to find us one free table that just needed to be cleared. We weren't really hungry as we had eaten a massive lunch at Tegernsee Brausterbl, so we ordered drinks first, a dark beer (Dunkel) for me and a Pinot Grigio 0.25L for my wife. The Pinot turned out to be a rose! The menu was in German and I couldn't understand most of it, so the waitress brought us an English version and we ordered one meal to share (Shashlik with french fries). When the meal appeared, it was clear that this order was also mixed-up, in that we had a very full plate each! The food was very tasty, with the shashlik of meat and veg covered in a goulash-like sauce and the chips were the crispiest, tastiest ever with the gravy! Although full, I managed to eat most of mine and my wife finished hers off completely! The waitress was lovely, very helpful, and i think the kitchen screwed up our order, hence, only 3 stars, but the food is definitely worth 4 stars.P.S. I also am giving just 3 stars because the restaurant was way too warm, even when we stripped down to T-shirts. A poor lady on an adjacent table was fanning herself for much of the night!
