The Wiesenstadl offers great traditional food of the area. I especially recommend the Kaiserschmarrn. The prices are more than fair. I especially love the warm atmosphere. The hut is cosy with a tile stove and the innkeeper makes you feel welcome. An additional up side is that you can reach the hut by ski and by car. So the whole family can meet there.During sunny weather and especially during the summer sit outside at the terrace and enjoy the Alps.

Kronreith Hotel and Restaurant is located about 1 mile up the hill out of the village of Maria Alm and has fantastic views of the Mountains and Valley. We dined outside on the balcony and enjoyed a fantastic meal. I ordered the grilled Trout with Potatoes and spinach. I would have to say it is the best Trout I have tasted, cooked to perfection. The Apple strudel to follow was also delicious. The Restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous, I would certainly visit again if we return to the area.

We have visited Jufenalm several times in the past and enjoyed always its nice interior and food. This year, we were completely disappointed with the food. My wife ordered deer ragout and got completely cold meal as if it stood somewhere for hours. My meal was over salted so I could hardly eat it (some house specialty with shrimps). All in all, we decided to avoid this place in the future.

Rada and Milan make for a welcome and comfortable atmosphere of this contemporary restaurant that serves a solid local fare, all well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. Personally, I believe they serve the best Wiener Schnitzel in the area so try it if you feel tempted.

This quiet little eatery at the bottom of the nursery slopes really comes alive at night. The food both day and night is superb and there's a great variety. Come 10pm the place is heaving, ready to dance the night away and a great day on the slopes.

Lovely place with nice atmosphere and great food. The prices are moderate, cheaper than places of similar quality. A real "must have" in Dienten, after a good day of skiing ot hiking. One small problem is that there is no English menu, but the staff speaks English, and... well, in the worst case You can blind-pick anything, You will not be disappointed. :)

The Steinbockalm is a fantastic mountain top restaurant with spectacular views, great outdoor eating areas and wonderful modern and contemporary/traditional dining areas. An excellent menu, including for sharing. Cheese Fondue, Pizza's , traditional Austrian dishes (Black Pudding Grostl included). Service is very friendly and efficient and of course great beer and wine list too!
Top 10 Austrian food in Dienten am Hochkonig, Austrian Alps, Austria

Visited in autumn when it was pretty quiet, we were greeted in cool stand-offish fashion as if we had just walked in on a lock-in without the locks. The interior of the place is nice, just what you would expect from a classic Alpine ski hut. Locally sourced ingredients on the menu and an inclination towards local herbs (which seems to be a thing in Dienten and features at other huts too): I had a stinging nettle cordial simply because it was on the menu, which tasted like sugar water and a cheese dumpling soup that was probably the worst I've ever eaten. It wasn't made fresh, tough and salty and in the smallest soup bowl, just bigger than those small coffee cups you get in hotels. We also had a venison hot dog which was fine but way over priced. The service was unfriendly and unwelcoming without the stress of high season.
