We visited this restaurant after a long and exhausting day sightseeing. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted warmly by the waiter. It was warm and there is alot of memorabilia around the room. The tables are set up elegantly also with the lights down low with candles being lit on our table. We ordered tea and apple strudel. The strudel had just been baked and the aroma throughout the restaurant was simply divine.Service was fast and efficient and the tea was good quality. We were five people and our bill was just over Euro20,00.I recommend this restaurant.
Eddy's Mosthof is a stunningly quaint place to visit. It appeals to locals and tourists alike because of its unique atmosphere. For the best Jausen around, this is the place to go. Also, the ribs that Eddy prepares are truly excellent. It's one of my favourite places in beautiful Lavanttal. From the restaurant, you have wonderful views of the valley as well as the impressive Koralpe.Eddy is a wonderful host that will look after you and make you experience one to remember. If you are in the area, you must visit this place.

This restaurant is conveniently located right next to the car park for Hochosterwitz Castle which looms over the area. We hadn't seen anywhere else suitable for lunch on our way to the castle so decided to eat there before making our ascent. We didn't have high expectations as we've often found these places with captive audiences offer very average fare for above average prices, but on this occasion we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted warmly and offered a seat on the terrace with a view of the castle. The waiter checked which language we spoke before bringing us the appropriate menu which had a good range of choices. My youngest daughter had a Weiner Schnitzel off the children's menu and it was huge, plenty large enough for most adults. My other daughter and myself shared a Turkey picante Milanese and Greek salad. The Greek salad was not like any one that I've ever had in Greece, but was beautifully presented and delicious, as were all the dishes. The prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality o the food and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you are going to the castle.

We ate here mid afternoon during our holiday in Carinthia. It's a charming place, nicely situated and near Hochhosterwitz castle. It looks to be beautifully renovated without being fussy and we found it very comfortable. The room we were in had a lovely exposed brick vaulted ceiling. The menu is written in dialect and this was a nice original touch. It seems that the owners have put a lot of thought into this restaurant and it's well promoted and advertised with interesting promotional events. There are different special offers for every day of the week. We visited on 'steak' day but we didn't have the steak. The other days include backhendel on a Saturday and there's a fish day.The food was good. We had meat patties with mash and gravy, and a meat and cheese platter. There was also a sweet noodle dish of what looked like Karnter nudels filled with a sweet nut filling and covered in melted butter. Prices were very reasonable and as I recall the main courses we had were around 10 euros each maximum.Everything about the place was good apart from the attitude of the staff. Our waitress was pleasant enough but there was a lot of bustling about preparing for the night, or the following day which was a bank holiday. We felt as though we were in the way. At one point, the restaurant manager and the waitress came up to our table and proceeded to adjust our tablecloth because it wasn't straight. There's Austrian efficiency and there's a fussiness that is over the top. We were not bothered if the tablecloth was straight or not. We'd rather have had a friendly conversation and a warmer welcome. That really was the only thing lacking at this lovely restaurant. That said, I would like to go back and give it another chance and would certainly recommend it for the food and the atmosphere.

Traditional Austrian cuisine, Carinthian dishes, elegant separate room for fine dining, Carinthian wine, festivities, garden, terrasse, playground for children, 15 spacious rooms, small room for private lunch/ dinner, bar.
Buen restaurante de campo cerca del castillo de Hochosterwitz. El personal muy amable y la comida muy tradicional pero rica. Además, los precios son bastante competitivos, lo que lo convierte en muy buena opción.

To find this amazing restaurant isolated in a rural region of South Austria was a wonderful surprise. Excellent food and service in an elegant environment. The menu was typical Austrian cuisine, which can be very hearty and tasteful. At Liegl these qualities are complemented by excellent products, as well as by french techniques in the execution and presentation of the dishes. Excellence naturally has a price: you may easily spend 50 euros per person for a lunch there. But it is totally worth it.

My friends and I came for a late lunch last Sunday after we had spent most of the day at the lake. We sat outside and had a light lunch and the delicious apricot pudding that is a local speciality. The waitress was friendly but service was incredibly slow...! It was a leisurely day but as we had a hungry toddler with us I would have expected that her food was brought out first - or at the very least a lot quicker than it was. I'm sure I would come here again if I'm at the lake in the future as the decor is pretty, atmosphere was relaxed and the food tasted good.
