Restaurants in Abtenau
Modern decor. Friendly Staff. Clean and excellent prices. Also offers cakes and coffee and small selection of hot food.Great for budget travellers or families with children.
we used our Abtenau holiday pass for one round trip on the cable-car. It was a bright and sunny day with the slopes busy with skiers & snow-boarders of all ages and abilities. The toboggan run was popular, too. Although the Hutte was very busy we found a table with a great view and enjoyed gluhwein and topfenstrudel. The waitress was cheerful with everyone and happy to help: the atmosphere was familiale. As we considered leaving, a family of six came in and were delighted that we vacated the table for them. The menu was extensive and the prices fair. So, even if you don't or won't ski, brave the cable car and experience a wee break in a lovely place. Oh, yes - the summertime lack of snow opens up a huge area of walks to be explored and enjoyed.

Every year we visit the Strobler Huette and always enjoy it. If the weather is nice you can enjoy the nice terrace or sit inside where it is very cosy. I love their Kaiserschmarren, a must really when you come to Austria. If you don't fancy something sweet the Wiener Schnitzel is nice also. The Strobler Huette is always busy but don't worry people are happy to share their table, so you don't need to wait for long.

We got there through an offer with the hotel we were staying at. Had a copious breakfast up in the mountains, with a gorgeous view. You can drive to pretty close to the top, or take another route and hike about 1 hour. While it sounds a lot for a breakfast, you feel much more rewarded if you get there "the hard way".Just to avoid any confusion: we are talking about a hut in the mountains, if you both aren't die hard mountaineers that's not the place for a "romantic dinner".Many thanks for your visit on our "Alm"!Hope to see you soon again.kind regardsJosef

Classic Austrian dishes, but made correctly. Large portions. It is nice to have a meal in the main square of the city, which is blocked by car.

Had pizza twice. And they were far above what I normally get in a pizzeria. Very nice to sit on the central square, when weather allow. A bit strange, but likeable staff. Bananasplit dessert was enough for two.

We had a pleasant experience with a wood oven roasted-pig, deliciious. The guys managing the hutte are really very pleasant. They could speak English and also a bit of italian. A typical alpin hutte of the area. Not really cheap, though

The way to the restaurant s very nice and the view is amazing but we were not too impressed with the food. It was ok but not much more than that. The people were also very nice.

Definitely worth a visit. Really really good food and super friendly waitress. Very cozy inside and there's also seating outside. This place is always packed. They also have theme weeks, e.g. Mexican weeks or chicken weeks. We keep coming back.
