This place is a secret tipp among the people from the region. We went today and from the moment we entered, we were treated like kings! The owner came with a great smile, when we asked if we could bring our dog along he was more than happy to accept him. This all came from the heart! The service was excellent: not only that they had kids menues they could draw on (with excellent pencils!!), but they had an excellent choice for vegetarians. The waitresses were very helpful and flexible when we ordered. The food arrived after a short while, everything was very good but also very much! 2 out of 5 managed to finish their plates... Ask for a doggy bag, we saw quite a few customers taking their rests with them.A dish to explore here is "Käsespätzle", that come in a wooden box accompanied by a salad. Very tasty and nicely prepared. The prices are very fair, the atmosphere is excellent, the views are amazing: What more can you ask from a restaurant??? Both thumbs upup!

We recently ate meals in the Goldenes Kreuz on two occasions during a stay in Steibis. Both times the meals were excellent and I was very impressed when was asked if I had a large appetite as the meal I had ordered came in a very large portion. I chose to have a smaller portion and was charged a reduced price for the meal.Very good service from a very friendly staff. It's probably a good idea to reserve a table on busy weekends as the restaurant was full on both the evenings that we ate there. My only reservation is that neither credit cards or normal debit cards are accepted for payment. German restaurants really do need to move into the 21st century.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel--a family of 6, including three grandchildren--so schnitzel/chips were high on their list. The service was excellent;the menu however all in German( just as well we had a local friend with us). Main courses were delicious. No problems with parking ( it's adjacent to a large ski lift car park), but only payment in cash--no credit card. like many places in Bavaria.

After a strenuous walk at the top of the gondola we stopped here for a light lunch which we all enjoyed. The atmosphere was perfect for a mountainside restaurant and the views were wonderful.

An outstanding meal with wines for each course chosen by the sommelier in a very modern building. We had a rucola/goat's cheese salad, home-smoked salmon, large grilled prawns and a salmon trout filet, but only one dessert of Bavarian cream, chocolate gel and sorbet. The wine waiter described the wine for each dish and why he recommended them. It was a memorable, special evening. Probably more for couples than families. Would definitely recommend it.

We were biking through Bavaria and stopped here for lunch. The interior is Bavarian charm and the food was hearty and well-prepared. Bon Appetite!

We went there without a reservation and just got the last table. We ordered a local wine (OK), Wiener schnitzel (excellent) and pork medallions (excellent). We both also ordered potato salad and fried onions (again both excellent). The presentation was outstanding. The greeting was friendly and we were immediately recognised as British, spoken to in English and given an English menu, although the specials were only in German which our host translated for us.The atmosphere inside is of a traditional Bavarian restaurant (a very busy one!) and remember it only opens at 5pm and is closed on a Monday. We will return for one of the best meals we've had for a while.
