The Leigh Sawmill Cafe is the perfect place to spend a weekend - have a good meal or 2, relax in the garden, go to the beach, catch a band and stay the night in our comfortable accommodation just 50 metres away. The cafe offers delicious gourmet pizzas, f
Visited here for lunch with my husband and parents on the way back from Goat Island. As there was inappropriate (for the clientele) music playing indoors, we sat outside. We ordered 4 coffees and we all thought that they tasted burnt, so much so that I did not drink mine and that has never happened to me before, anywhere in the world. After quite a long wait we ordered our food (they were not busy so no need to be slow), 5 minutes after that we were told that 2 of the 4 items were not available, we ordered again only to be told the 2 replacement meals were not available either. Seems like the waiter was having a bad day. My Mother was unable to eat her 'Pork Bun' as it was like raw/semi cooked pastry crossed with a marshmallow with cooked bone dry pork inside, really not appetising. My Father and I only ate half of our lunches too as they were just not good. All in all really disappointed.

We have to say congratulations on your awesome table service, beautiful meals & great value for money. My husband & I had the lamb shanks & spaghetti bolognese & both meals were absolutely delicious & more than enough to eat. The lamb shanks came with extra vegetables cooked perfectly. To cap it off we were given beautiful warm towelettes. Our best in NZ so far!

Typical pub food. Taste didn't match the description for my bland vegetarian dish. Staff asked how my meal was but were not really interested in honest feedback. Perfectly edible but didn't meet expectations. Thanks for taking the time to review us as your feedback helps us improve our experience to you. Thanks again
