Things to do in Orewa
Best indian restaurant, with highly recommended Indian cuisine, best curry in coast with reasonable price, good for faimly.
A great little hidden gem. Mumbai Chef, next to Beach Pizza in the Muldoons Carpark, not a flash restaurant, just your basic cafe style, but excellent flavours and service here.I have had several take outs from this new spot and can recommend it to you.

Has the expected range of sushi and hot meals to order. Very popular with all ages, including younger business people. We had range items we choose from shelf plus a hot teriyaki chicken. Everything was lovely and eaten with relish. It was recommended to us by a local business and they do a constant busy trade, especially around lunch time. There is takeaway and table service. Bill was $33 for two people and we had plenty to eat.

I first noticed the posts for this restaurant on Facebook as they had SOLD OUT across them in big writing. Of course curiosity led me to discover there was yum cha on offer, around the corner, for dinner! Well, $25 per person delivers you handmade spring rolls, prawn toasts and won tons, plus and endless supply of delicious dumplings. Steaming dumpling baskets filled with fresh and plump pork, prawn, scallops and more delicious dumplings. In addition, portions of noodles, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and garlic greens are also offered. You must book in advance, the yum cha is Tuesday night's, and you don't want to miss out.

Located in Orewa, Auckland and boasting over a decade of experience, Suwan Thai successfully infuse the authentic taste of Thai cuisine with a welcoming, family friendly environment. Escape the hustle and bustle of Auckland and come experience a truly tra
Not sure how there are so many rave reviews. The takeaway dishes that we had resembled something closer to a cheap, tasteless chinese takeaway than a so-called authentic thai restaurant. I ordered the hottest curry available and it was honestly bland, barely a hint of spice or flavor. The fried rice was bland as well. The only positive was a very good satay. Why anyone would go here when Thai Orewa down the street is miles better and cheaper is beyond me. At the very least, I would recommend you try both. I'd say that 9 times out of 10, people would prefer Thai Orewa.

We went to Hayami on Saturday night.Meals where overpriced and very small, there was no sushi available because they had run out of rice, the bowls of rice served with our main meals where only half full and the Miso was like drinking water. My main - Salmon was $35.50 - three tiny thin pieces of salmon on a little bit of cabbage. We all know the price of salmon at the supermarket - they made a massive profit on my meal. All husbands main - Combination Tempura - 2 prawns, 1 piece each of carrot, pumpkin, potato and two green beans. $25.50.Menu states - Large consists of 13 pieces. Someone can't count. There were 4 adults and 2 children and all meals where small and expensive. The total bill was $375.00 (yes we did have a drink each and the 2 men had x3 beers and the kids had an apple juice each. Went home hungry I would not recommend Hayami Restaurant Orewa to anyone.Overpriced and underwhelmed. The small amount of food that we did have was lovely, can't fault them there. Service was ok however, we got the impression that the sooner we left, the soonerthey could close.

A little Asian Fusion, super delicious! We had the Vietnamese pork and prawn roll which was fresh and tasty. The fried chicken wings were disappointing, lacked any flavour. The 1/2 chicken was amazing with lime and cilantro. Will definitely go back - Orewa is so fun to hang out for a late afternoon evening, beautiful beach, cool casual vibe.

My second Thai dinner since I visited red beach, so I can compare with yesterdayâs place. Here has greater variety, higher prices and more customers. What I liked:- quality of tomyam- grilled porkWhat I disliked:- chicken was all breast parts- quantity of soup and prawns didnât match its price tag
