We hosted several vegetarian guests at home and needed to provide a few good meat/fish - free dishes, so we came to the Flavours of India restaurant to order them as a take away option. The food was truly outstanding - we all enjoyed it. It was freshly cooked and delicious. The restaurant is clean and very inviting - we will come again, for sure. Thank you

Nice to have such a fantastic restaurant in our community. The updated premises are nice with many families and locals frequenting. They seem to cater for couples just as easily as large groups. Service is great and friendly. Food was excellent and such a venue is a great asset to our community.

If you are British and miss a quality full flavoured curry, go to Mumbai Central. We had the Lamb Rogan Josh, indian hot, and a Chook biriani, both delicious.Be brave, have the lime pickle, it took my face off, Gorgeous,At last, so tired of the usual chain NZ curry house bland, boring efforts. This is the best curry I have eaten in NZ in ten years. The restaurant interior is basic, but the food is divine.

We are established toward the lovely ocean view on the Orewa beach. Its a astonishing place for Indian food lover. Please come and try our vary range food menu for the real Indian finger licking taste.
We have been to this restaurant a couple of times previously. The decor is now looking old and definitely no Bollywood atmosphere. The table had no cloth on it and was sticky . However despite the unloved look of the restaurant the food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The service was very functional âwhat would you like to order and yes you can pay your billâ. There was little interaction explaining the menu or asking if we would like additional items such as breads or raita. So not very personable or welcoming.

This place has changed hands quite a bit in the last 5 years, but we're forever returning customers. $10 meals Mon-Wed are an awesome size and enough for your lunch the next day :-) Try the butter chicken or beef vindaloo!

The food is good and the tapas approach novel and yet fulfilling. The plate is certainly full with a little bit of everything from salad to bread not forgetting your curry whatever. Service can be patchy but we don't go to be waited on we go for the food and the laid back style which it accomplishes. Also nice to just sit outside and have a beer in the sunshine. Kingfisher of course!

I enjoy Indian food but rarely go to Indian restaurants. In the past I have too often been disappointed by the quality of food, meagreness of meat servings and the rip-off prices of the sambals to accompany main courses. I reckon $3 for little more than a teaspoon of thin mango chutney is over the top. Anyhow "Indian Village" is the EXCEPTION. The fresh spices are there in abundance and perfectly balanced as well. The side dishes were generous and good value for money. We were particularly impressed by the Lamb Korma. The Dried fruit and Nut Naan Bread was by far the best we have ever eaten. Light as a feather and with just the right amount of fruit and nuts. It married so well with the Lamb Korma that we almost forgot to eat the other side dishes we had ordered. Sadly we were less impressed with the mixed vegetable dish we ordered because the spices seemed a bit "raw" and in our face if you can imagine what we mean.

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal here. Apparently, this is traditional Indian street food but done to perfection and presented very well. The servings are large and the prices are reasonable. Everything we had was incredible. We recommend the Margh Furdaose, crispy Chilli Aloo, and the vegetable salad. Even the parathas were incredible.
