Temple of the mythical sea God Poseidon. Perched on cliffs above Cape Sounio, the temple ruins, surrounded on three sides by sea, have stunning views out over the Aegean. It was mentioned in Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey. More recently, English Romantic poet Lord Byron visited this atmospheric spot in 1811 and inscribed his name at the base of one of the temple's Doric columns.

I had lunch at this restaurant while staying at the nearby hotel. The restaurant is basically on the beach. The price of the main dishes is 40-50% higher than the restaurant in the nearby city of Lavrio but the quality is below average. Wont try it again. Iâd rather take the car to Lavrio instead.

We visit the area very often for the nearby small beach. We ordered pizza and risoto and we found them excellent. We drunk cold beer. The staff was friendly and helpfull.

Have visited the place with the family and srarted with a variety of salads in a big platter. Then we continued with prawns in sesame and calamari. And the top of the day were the mussels in the pot with feta sauce!!! The service was excellent and the prices very good. In general it's a place highly recommended.

Had lunch here not long ago with friends. We had a salad, sardines, beefteki, fries and beer. Everything was fine. The Sardines were average. The view is what makes this place stand out. It is undoubtedly the best restaurant at Sounion beach; we've tried both on different trips. I have to agree with some other reviews that the quality of the kitchen is gradually declining.

This place is on a fairly quiet pedestrian street in central Lavrion. It features all the Greek fish taverna fare, without flashy innovative additions. The quality of the food was good, as was the service. Surprisingly, the restaurant-name fish (atherina - smelt) was not on the menu.

I have eaten in this restaurant twice. Food is really good and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Too relaxed sometimes :) at least once we had to wait a while for the food but it is worth and on the positive side, when you have finished you can stay and chat nobody bothers you to leave the table or else. So overall a very good experience. But I would not advise this restaurant if you are in a hurry :)

We went to this restaurant after having visited the Poseidon temple in Cape Sounio. After having seen the menu, since there were too many options, I asked the owner to suggest something... he told me: follow me!He brought me to the kitchen and showed me a sea bass and suggested to have it grilled! We followed the suggestion and we had some salad and other vegetables, including fried zucchine and eggplants as side dish.Everything was very delicious and the man was very kind with us.At the end they also offered the dessert.

almost 70 km from Athens centre- approachable either through Laurium (Attiki Odhos) or the coast driveway, a little gem. Actually not a little but a multi chamber eatery with a slightly pernicious drive to and parking to go with it. It is among the best in the secluded winding in coast Laurium-Sounion road. Laurium offers a lot in a different character. This location combines wilderness (a leafy villa across) overlooking in a sliver the sea as well a the different eating verandahs. The food is fresh, well prepared, not over-whatever (e.g. overbuild villa or badly fired calamarakia). Exquisite in that. Fine beer selection. Good service. Owner managed and a bit of a place where you may meet someone you know. Despite the seclusive impression it is not an inconspicuously located unit where you will not meet someone you know.
