Reviews on Greek food in Poros, Attica, Greece. Poros (Greek: Πόρος) is a small Greek island-pair in the southern part of the Saronic Gulf, about 58 km (36 mi) (31 nautical miles) south from Piraeus and separated from the Peloponnese by a 200 m (656 ft) wide sea channel, with the town of Galatas on the mainland across the strait. Its surface area is about 31 square kilometres (12 sq mi) and it has 3,780 inhabitants. The ancient name of Poros was Pogon. Like other ports in the Saronic, it is a popular weekend destination for Athenian travellers.

This place is a must visit in Poros. The restaurant actually sits on the water although the prices are still very reasonable. The food is delicious and the wait staff are very friendly and helpful. Great tastes, the lapping sound of the ocean, and jazz music in the background... What could be nicer?

Giorgos and Cindy would love to welcome you to their taverna. Giorgos being a local fisherman and owner together with his dutch wife Cindy who is organizing the kitchen. They serve fresh local fish caught by family or Giorgos himself , lots of little appe
8 of us called in last night around 9:30pm just for dinner and some drinks. We ordered some starters like tzatziki, halumi, saganaki, fried chips and more. For main dish i had a fresh grilled calamari and a tuna steak. All was absolutely delicious and tasty. The decor was wonderful and the view incredible. Staff treat us with great service with a smile. They were very friendly and attentive. So the true measure of quality service is how you deal with this situation and they were brilliant! Definitely we will go again soon.

This was my second visit to Poros on a Yoga & Pilates Retreat, travelling solo but meeting up with friends and also making new friends. Both Maria and Sophia at Petros Taverna are the most loveliest, trusting & kind people. The food is homemade with a choice from traditional meals or from the grill. The calamaris is the best I have ever tasted and I love it!The food is always good and always so reasonable that it is a must to go to, for either lunch overlooking the fantastic bay or for dinner.I cannot wait to be back there next year again :)Whilst not a seafood restaurant, it does offer catch of the day.....but then the pork chops are delicious!!!

Beach bar/ restaurant right on the sand. The zucchini balls tasty enough but the dipping sauce with advertised, but non existent lime, needs some attention boss of the kitchen. Grilled sea bream with sauted veg was delicious. Give the house wine a miss here - really rough and more way more expensive than other local establishments.

Ticked away up some steps behind the DIana cinema in Poros port with nice outdoor patio and a real throwback to Greece maybe 20-30 years ago in terms of serving fantastic, great-value, home-made traditional Greek food in gigantic portions. The biggest pork chop I have ever seen and absolutely delicious too. I have a real thing for fava (the Greek equivalent of mushy peas !) and Karavolos served the best I have ever had. Wouldn't normally go to the same restaurant twice when on holiday but had to return a second time and, despite a 5-night gap between the two visits, the lovely lady (Maria ?) who runs the place immediately recognised us. If you go to Poros don't miss eating here.

We came here on our first night based on Tripadvisor reviews, and I was sorely disappointed. Lacking in vegan options, got drinks order wrong and the vegetables I did have were lack lustre and bland at best. Very overpriced. Lots of other restaurants in the vicinity with more value and variety.

It had been a long time since I had eaten the meat of such good quality and so well prepared. Exquisite flavor as a result of combining a quality product with a good kitchen. The service is excellent and the waiters are friendly, kind and very polite. One of the best options in Poros.Definitely.
