Reviews on European food in Aegina, Attica, Greece. Aegina (/iːˈdʒaɪnə/; Greek: Αίγινα, Aígina [ˈeʝina], Ancient Greek: Αἴγῑνα) is one of the Saronic Islands of Greece in the Saronic Gulf, 27 kilometres (17 miles) from Athens. Tradition derives the name from Aegina the mother of the hero Aeacus, who was born on the island and became its king. During ancient times Aegina was a rival of Athens, the great sea power of the era.

Bech front cafe-restaurant in the sandy beach of Marathonas Aegina.
Our server (who I assume was the owner, Panos) was excellent. His service was attentive without being pushy. Unfortunately we had just eaten lunch before getting to the beach, but if we had known his menu was so extensive we would've saved our apetites. For drinks we ordered a mojito, one of the iced espresso-based drinks and a pistachio milkshake. We all enjoyed our choices. Later, we shared an order of fried squid which came fresh, piping hot and very crispy. We spent hours relaxing on the beach, dipping in and out of the water until we had to head back to the port for the ferry to Athens. This experience made us wish we had booked a night in Aegina rather than take a day trip. La Palma is a 7⬠taxi ride away from the main port.We are so happy to hear you had a nice day in our place and that you enjoyed our food and drinks. We also thank you for your kind words about my husband Panos. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon

Went in here on my own for lunch, got a burger and a large beer and it only cost â¬4.50! This restaurant is not a Greek restaurant however, much more westernized in that they serve fried chicken and hotdogs, not Gyros or Souvlaki. Still a great place to get a cheap meal and drinks! Thank you very much!! Always welcome!!!

The restaurant "Kappos Etsi" welcomes you to the site located in the P. Irioti 9 in the center of Aegina, just 100 meters from the port in one of the most picturesque streets of the island. In a stone listed building the owner and chef Dimitris Kappos wai
This restaurant has a nice setting and style. The Greek menu had a few nice variations and the food was pleasant. However running 44 covers with one waitress running around like crazy ruined the whole experience. We love long slow meals but this is another level of waiting. Table after table frustrated and leaving because of this.I would not return.

We werenât expecting anything but another restaurant on the strip having not been to any of them before. We were pleasantly surprised. Very accommodating attentive quick service. Table of 8. Slightly different menu to your traditional taverna. Good octopus salad burgers pizza and orzo. Good atmosphere. Great ice creams either side!

Tortuga, the one and only Artcafé Winebar in the island. For the past three years, Dario makes sure for a unique italian experience in the heart of Aegina town. Only there, you can taste authentic café napoletano, homemade sweets like tiramisu, as well as
The local wine is fine. Most restaurants and bars sell perfectly acceptable wines but this place sells exceptional wines. The owner is very knowledgeable and doesn't try to bamboozle you into buying stuff but explains the good wine distribution in Greece and its islands. We drank a white from Santorini which was excellent. Food/snacks available and super friendly service. Great coffee too.well worth a visit

Nice restaurant/taverna with delicious food and very good service. Among other very good dishes, the swordfish and the octopus were excellent. The best white wine in Agia Marina and one of the best white wines, dry and with a fruity after taste, in general.Very good prices.

Perdika is a small village on the island of Aegina where there are about 10 or so restaurants and cafes. We came here for a week and Remetzo is by far the best place to eat.The food is outstanding and brilliant value compared to others in the harbour. It is right on the harbour edge with typical Greek decor and a warm friendly atmosphere. Notis and his family are so genuinely attentive and welcoming. They have every right to be proud of their restaurant. This is our favourite place and we eat here every night because the whole experience. Excellent food, lovely ambience and service that is exceptional.
