Atlanta has been dubbed everything from the "capital of the new South" and "the next international city" to "the best place to do business." It's also a great place to visit. Fueled by the prosperity of local mega companies like Coca Cola and Holiday Inn, the prestige of hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and the energy of young upwardly mobile types who have migrated to the city in droves - Atlanta is on fire. And this time it's a good thing. From world-class restaurants and a myriad of cultural attractions to a hip nightlife and sporting events galore, the city is cosmopolitan in every sense of the word. But Atlanta has also managed to maintain its historic character. Stop by the Atlanta History Center or visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site, a moving tribute to an American icon. Browse through the former home of famous author Margaret Mitchell or pop into the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum for details on the life and times of the former president and his family. Whether you choose modern urban endeavors or old southern pleasures, Atlanta will not disappoint.

PROS: Convenient location Friendly staff Breakfast included High shower heads Comfortable bed Clean and quiet room Microwave, fridge and coffee maker in the room CONS: Fitness room out of service due to a fire No ice machines on our floor, taken out (although we found out they still have ice on the 2nd and 5th floors so it is available just not convenient) Elevator issues Horrible door! -room 807 Glazed windows- NO outside view No disclosure (written or verbal) about the $40 per night deposit! We chose to pay for an upper room so we would have a “better” view but the windows are heavily glazed so there is NO view…huh? We also chose a hotel with a fitness room specifically so I could do PT while my husband is at his conference but the fitness room is out of commission (not showing that on the website)! We are here for 7 nights and they didn’t disclose on the website nor at check-in about the $40 PER NIGHT “deposit”. My questions are these: 1) Why charge a longer term guest a higher deposit? If someone is the type of person who will cause damage, can’t they cause the same amount in one night? Why am I charged 7 times as much?!?! 2) How can they charge us this “deposit” without written nor verbal disclosure? I have searched the website and our confirmation email and it wasn’t disclosed. They claim it isn’t charged to the card unless necessary but instead of a pending approval, at check-in they charged to our credit card $1800+ instead of the $1500+ that we were expecting (and which our email confirmation stated). Avoid room 807 unless they fix the door! The door is sagging so it is very, very difficult to open and to close without throwing your body weight at the door! It should be an easy fix: a new, tighter upper hinge or sanding the opening or the door should be sufficient to make the door easier to open and close. I feel sorry for nearby rooms due to the horribly loud thud each time we have to close the door with force. The elevator issues have been partly taken care of. The first day there was only 1 of the 3 elevators working! As much as I wanted exercise, I don’t see well enough to do 8 floors of stairs so we had to wait and wait. Thankfully a second elevator is now in service so the wait time has improved. Our first evening we found a nearby cafe called The Food Shoppe. Their Creole Chicken Pasta was fantastic! The jambalaya was ok but the pasta is worth going back. We plan to return this week.

For the price I paid I can't fault this hotel. The male staff member who did my check in was super friendly and made me feel really welcome. The room was big and clean. It had a fridge, microwave and TV, as well as a balcony. The location was quiet despite being near main roads, and it was walking distance from the main attractions downtown that I wanted to visit. I was also happy to be able to leave my suitcases at the hotel for the day on check out as my onward travel plans weren't until the evening.

My husband had to have surgery @Piedmont Hospital. We wanted a motel close to the hospital as we were not allowed to be with him. This motel is very close and convenient to the hospital. We had some special circumstances and the manager went above and beyond to accommodate us. The room was clean and comfortable. The only reason I did not give it 4 stars is because there was a lot of renovations going on. Other than that, this is a great place to stay.

Motel 6 Atlanta GA is located near shopping and dining. Visit Perimeter Mall, Phipps Plaza and Chastain Park Amphitheater. Enjoy free WiFi in all guest rooms, unlimited local calls and fresh brewed morning coffee. We also offer a coin laundry facility.
Well rather than visiting there, It was nearly impossible to manage without a car. Visiting due to Family personal issues tbh. The whole ball of wax in eating full time education, etc. Like any holiday, very different when living, rather than spending two weeks camping in the smoky mountains. Having said all that, the wildlife and beauty in the untouched parts of Georgia are simply amazing. All in moderation and you probably won't find a more pleasent place to see. A must for anyone who loves to travel. My personal reccomendation would be Black Rock Mountain State Park. This borders mountain city where I use to live. ?

Avoid like the plague! This hotel looks like someone has been murdered here. Check in lady was rude and extremely unprofessional. The elevator floor was broken and smelt bad. There were people scoping the place watching people check in which obviously made us all uncomfortable. Door did not close properly and you could see someone had previously kicked the door in. Stains on the bed, floor, desk, chair and windows. Air conditioner was broken, clothes rail was broken. We have never felt so unsafe at a hotel. Sleeping in the car would have been a better experience. The lobby was closed so you had to talk to the lady, who obviously hates her job, through the window. There seems to be no care to how the hotel looks. If you have children do not go here, if you are travelling alone do not go here. To be honest just don’t go here not only because it’s not up to standard but because it is not safe. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We ended up booking 2 rooms and paid about $20 more for the best western plus airport south and got breakfast included. Lady on the check in at that hotel gave us a great service and as soon as we mentioned this abomination of a hotel she knew how bad it was because of her experience and other people leaving that hotel and going to the best western. Unofficially naming this hotel the econamurder lodge as it looks like something from a horror movie. We checked the news reports and there have been people murdered here in may 2022 !!! How is this place still open ?!?!
