Atascadero is a city in San Luis Obispo County, California, about equidistant from Los Angeles and San Francisco on U.S. Route 101. Atascadero is part of the San Luis Obispo - Atascadero - Paso Robles metropolitan area. Atascadero is farther inland than most other cities in the county, and as a result, usually experiences warmer, drier summers, and cooler winters than other nearby cities such as San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach. The first 2 times we came here, we were very impressed...both the food and the service were excellent. However this time, there were only 5 customers and 3 "servers" and we did not receive the friendly welcome we got the other busy times. Our tri tip sandwich was a little tough and the non spicy BBQ sauce still had a bite to it as did the plain meat. The garlic and mayo grilled roll was a little off tasting too.The fries were tasty ( also with a bit of spice) But the chocolate malt was one of the best I've ever tasted. Not too thick and served the old fashioned way in a tall glass with the extra in the cold metal container in which it was made. We shared the sandwich, fries and the malt. $20

Perhaps the best reason to go to Atascadero! Parisian quality bread and pastries, and cafe lunches in a relaxed setting. Prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Cozy, local coffee shop and cafe. A community institution for last 5 years. Fresh food made-to-order, homemade pastries, Stumptown coffee, and a wide tea selection.
We stopped here for breakfast and coffee. Coffee is good but pricey- $3 for a cup if you stay at the cafe (and I asked for 12 oz)!! Several egg based breakfast options such as an omelette, wraps, fried and scrambled. Pastries look decent too. I had a scrambled egg plate with hash browns and do not recommend it. The eggs were fine and included bell pepper and shredded cheese but the hash browns were greasy, hard and reheated. My friend ordered the sunny-side up egg on an english muffin and this included avocado and tomato and looked much better but she would have preferred the english muffin to actually have been toasted. I am giving this review a very good because I liked the space (not he food)- three rooms and an outdoor patio allow for lingering in an eclectic spot.

Went to Guesthouse on a Friday night. Our food was great all the staff was great but our server Summer the service was not so good. We had to ask other servers to get us things. I never say negative things about places we go but she was just not into doing a good job. We will always go back but this was a first with something not so good.

First off, the family that owns this coffee hot spot is ahhhmazing. Pure kindness at every visit. Second, the mocha-cino is unreal. But drink it early! It's caffeinated goodness that will keep you moving all day long. And their regular drip roast is delicious. Try their breakfast sandwiches too. Truly artisan quality. One of my favorite spots.

Might have been named something different but it is now called Back Porch and it has great pastry's, bread, and good coffee. Had a great Quiche and Croissant and egg breakfast there. You order and they bring it to the table. It is convenient next to the Carlton hotel. Very good bakery. Oatmeal was good too.

Went strolling downtown Atascadero around lunch time. Found this place and decided to check it out. Great menu and beer choices. Wine, too. I don't do wine.

After returning from a trip to England, I was experiencing serious withdrawal symptoms from not having my typical afternoon cream tea. With that in mind I picked a beautiful Saturday afternoon and delighted in a piece of Britain right on the Central Coast. The tea was lovely and the scones with accompanying clotted cream and jam were delicious. The setting is quaint and exactly what one would want in a tea house. Really would be perfect for a small get together with the girls - maybe the ideal spot for a bridal or baby shower? (Neither of which I'm planning at the moment, but filing away the idea for the next one I throw!)

Nothing I dislike more than patronizing a restaurant and being waited on by inexperience kids. The wait staff here is experienced and very attentive. The food is tasty and the portions generous. They tend to get very busy for breakfast on weekends so we often go elsewhere if our group is large. If there are just two or three of us it's Country Touch. Prices are also very reasonable.

At In-N-Out Burger, quality is everything. Stop by to enjoy our menu of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french fries and shakes. In-N-Out makes fast food the old fashioned way.
Very impressed that the burgers at this location were much less greasy that other locations. Staff friendly and they turned around the massive queue extremely quickly. Fries still not great but have come to expect that from In N Out.
