From the street, you would not expect much from this restaurant in Copiapo, but if you venture down the driveway to the parking lot that Caffellatte shares with Toros y Toreos, you will find Caffellatte. There is a enclosed area that is heated in winter and one of the liveliest spots I have found in Copiapo. The menu ranges from sandwiches to pizza to salad to more substantial meals. There is music courtesy of a video player that does everything from Hall & Oates to Rhinna. What I like about this place is that in winter, when there are few tourists in town, you can eat here and not be the only one in the place. The service is pretty good and the prices reasonable. If you want an American style pizza you need to ask them to put extra salsa on it. The portions are large and it is OK to share which can keep your costs down. I would definitely go back for another meal here.

Thereâs a relative lack of places to get pizza in Copiapo, although the few that do exist are not too bad. Pizza Piero make a thin crust style that reminds me of the type you get in Italy, which isnât surprising as the owners display their Italian heritage with the decorations on the wall. The restaurant is not necessarily easy to find, being located at the back of a carpark. Itâs fairly modern and clean, which is a reasonably good start in Copiapo! It has rarely had more than 2-3 other people there whenever weâve visited in the past. Not sure if that is because we go at strange times? Anyway, no complaints about that!Décor and ambience are fairly basic, with the obligatory television! Given the lack of customers, service is reasonably efficient. The pizza choice is quite extensive, plus of course you can make your own with whatever toppings you choose. Nothing outside of pizza thoughâ¦We order a family size between three and it often seems like not quite enough, although in reality it probably is just OK, especially if you go and have an ice cream at the stand on the other side of the carpark afterwards. The pizzas are certainly on the expensive side of things for what you get in terms of volume BUT they are flavoursome and good quality. Oregano and merquen are provided free of charge on the table for you to add some additional flavour if you require it.
