This place has always been a favourite place to eat and today was no different. The food is always outstanding, including the daily menu del dia. But what makes Alterna different from other restaurants around are the wonderful staff who are super friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on offer. Fran today was one of the best waiters we've had for a long time! I highly recommend this great Asturian Sidreria and make sure you book in advance for the weekends as it's very popular. Thank you very much for your comment. We try to improve every day and your opinion motivates us to continue doing it. We will congratulate Fran on his behalf. Ate once in the restaurant during our 2 night stay. The food was very very good - beautifully presented and very tasty - the wines were reasonably priced and the portion size was just right - we were worried the restaurant would be over the top - it wasn't - the staff were very helpful despite the language barrier and we had some excellent food - the steak was particularly good. Highly recommended.

This restaurant has moved into new premises and really lives up to the fresh, vibrant feel they have created there.The owner is very welcoming and a great host. He certainly knows his way around both the food and wine menu. The restaurant was buzzing with people unable to get a table which was a testament to the great food and atmosphere.I'm already looking forward to my next visit in May.
