Paradors are, for me synonymous with quality, elegance and refinement and this one delivers completely. The modern addition that provides the rooms and dining facilities and rooms has been been tastefully designed, are spacious and all to a high standard. Reception and other common rooms have been tasefully incorporated in the remnants of the former monastry.Dining is a star feature with imaginative dishes cooked to a very high standard. It is conveniently located at the northern edge of the town adjacent to the river Onis, and the town centre is only a delightful 25 minute walk along the is well maintained river bank walk.It is an ideal base for exploring the Picos de Europa. In our 5 night stay, we managed to fit in 2 beautify countryside walks [hotel staff are vey helpful if you need ideas or directions] and visit the main highlight destination â Fuente De, Los lagos de Lacona and the climb from Poncebos to Bulnes.Terrific choice for anyone who like a bit of luxury as well as beautiful scenery.

Fuimos a comer de menú y la verdad que fallé en todos los platos. Para salir del paso puede ser pero hay muchas más opciones de más calidad. Arroz con leche malisimo, sardinas sosas y con escamas, fabada sin color...

I confess I chose the restaurant because I wanted a quite one (so I found in Tripadvisor). Unlucky, perhaps because there was football in television (TV in a restaurant? Is it really necessary?) the "thing" was screaming. Pleasantly, the employee agreed to lower the sound. Well, the meal was not anything special, the two main (pork and lamb) overcooked.

Having visited their other restaurant, same name, in Ribadesella, we decided to try this one aswell. The location at the foot of a Roman bridge can not be bettered. We had lunch outdoors, although indoor dining is available. Having already experienced the size of the portions served by this chain of restaurants, we opted to share three main courses between six of us. Excellent choice!! Try the "Taquitos de Solomillo" ( Grilled steak chunks) and the calamares (rabas) aren't bad either. Not to be missed.

Influenced by the positive reviews we went to have dinner at this restaurant. The price of the menu (including drinks and dessert) is cheap - 12 euros. Furthermore they offered an extra "tapa" as a starter. However, the food seemed to have been cooked for lunch or even in the day before ... and just warmed up again. No fresh food. A total mistake. It is simply unacceptable that a restaurant located in a region with so good food offers "old" food! And right at the other corner of the street there is another restaurant - the Enol - that although slightly more expensive (14 euros menu) it offers really fresh and real good food.

I was visiting with some friends after asking local people where to eat a good cachopo. Among the few places I was given, I chose this one and was actually a very tasty and large cachopo (unfortunately we ate it before taking a picture). We also tried a "carrillera" (mix) of grilled meat and everything was very good. If you must choose a single dish, I would go for a cachopo. Quality and quantity vs. price ratio is very high.

I can't say anything bad about this place, its small, its charming and its very Spanish! The food is good and the price even better. I can't not mention the waiter, defiantly it's been a while, since I meet some character like him! Defiantly a place worth to stop if you are looking for that kind of dinner setting. + The best chocolate cake I ever have!

Fantastic restaurant in the center of cangas de onis. The service was very good and friendly. Food was excellent. The sardines with orange carpaccio and hake as main course were very good.

Tuesday 28 May, Dinner. We are the only 2 diners. Starter of clams (almejas) - Euro 28. Main of 'kingfish' (Rey) - Euro 72.As with the Emperors New Clothes, a reality check is needed here. This is crude un-adorned cooking being sold at grossly inflated prices. One example of a far better bet is Sibariz where you get refined cuisine at less cost.
