Best known as the birthplace of St. Francis, Italy's patron saint, Assisi lies amid Umbria's rolling hills. Religious pilgrims have come here for centuries to visit the Basilica of San Francesco (where St. Francis is buried) and the Basilica of Santa Chiara (to see the tomb of St. Clare). Visit the Eremo delle Carceri to see caves where medieval hermits withdrew from the world. (You may find such solitude quite appealing—especially if you're here on a daytrip from Rome!)

Hotel la Terrazza, nestled in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity among the olive groves of Assisi's hills, is located only 800 meters from the historical centre of the city and near to the tourist sports complex. Thanks to its position, which looks over the green Umbria valley, the mornings here are soft and sweet, and the sunsets give the building's stones, the so-called 'pietra rosa' of Mount Subasio.
What a fabulous hotel. After a day walking around Assisi the hotel is only a 20 min walk or 5 min drive from the town. Great decor, fab views, lovely and clean, friendly staff, lovely warm room with comfy bed. Delicious breakfast and to top it all off the spa is a real treat. Can't recommend highly enough. Very reasonably priced too.

Hotel Il Palazzo is set in the left wing of Palazzo Bartocci Fontana, a 16-th century building halfway between Assisi's Basilica of Saint Francis and Piazza del Comune square. The building has been completely renovated in October 2017. Rooms offer free Wi-Fi. Some rooms on the 3rd floor offer views on the rooftops and the Umbria Valley. Il Palazzo's breakfast room feature original vaulted ceilings, stone walls, and striking modern decorations. Breakfast is buffet style.
Close to to any where, only less than 5 minutes walk from the the Basilica Francesco d Assisi, and other points of interest. Easy to catch up sunset, sunrise or morning mass to the Basilica. In contratst, we were in Assisi 3 years ago, and stay in the City. We could bot explore to the “real Assisi”. Room is clean, beautuful with classic art at the ceiling and spacious for 3 person. They have prepare the bed for my boy. Got the 2nd floor with view to the street and the valley. Lovely!. I Resto and small tavern is close by. Dont go to the popular rating. Try the under rated one since they will serve you well; they just not lucky enough to get you to review them. I found some popular resto at Assisi, are too “over rated”, they are bad service and so-so only. Back to hotel, I believe that any good hotel, the people make a distinction. No exception to this hotel. Julian is so helpful and informative. Parking is free, and only 10 max walk from the hotel. The hotel no attendance after 8PM. They prepare the key for us to get in. We enjoy the stay.

The B&B "Francesco in Assisi" is a cozy house at the foot of Assisi in a comfortable family environment run by Family Carloni. On the second floor of this building, with elevator and WiFi access, there are three rooms available for guests and the dining room where breakfast is served. On the first floor lives family Carloni, owner of the house. Our B&B is located about 500 meters from the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and 2.5 km from Assisi. The bus to Assisi and Perugia is 20 meters away. The railway station is about 800 meters. The house is situated in a quiet residential area that offersfacilities such as shopping center, sports center (tennis, football, swimming pool), gym and greenpedestrian and cycle path. The International Airport "San Francesco d'Assisi" is about 10 Km far.
Family run bed & breakfast. Mrs Mariella is a very friendly, helpful and kind person and she made our one week stay at Assisi an unforgettable one. In our case, she even picked us up from Perugia Airport on arrival and took us back on departure. Her hospitality is really one of a kind. The breakfast is delicious with excellent home made cakes. The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli is just a short walk away and buses stop near the B & B. If we come back to Assisi, we will definitely stay at this B&B again. Thank you for everything Mrs Mariella.

The Relais Nun is located in the spiritual heart of Assisi, in the highest part of the historical center with magnificent views of the both the Rocca Maggiore and Minore on the soft contours of Mount Subasio. It is an exclusive 5 star resort that came about from the careful restoration of the ancient monastery of Saint Catherine, which was originally constructed in 1275 for a community of Benedictine nuns.
I cannot sing enough praises of the staff of this hotel and spa. They are knowledgeable, friendly and go above and beyond service in a way I can only describe as feeling completely taken care of. Our room was always clean, it was extremely comfortable and quiet, their restaurant recommendations were perfect, the breakfast was delicious, they were always warm and patient with our questions. The grounds are lovely and a great place to have a coffee or drink as the weather started warming. The spa was relaxing and the Roman bath set up in the Roman ruin was something very special. The rosemary scented shower at the end of the circuit was my favorite. If you want to be taken care of and feel peaceful and relaxed, book this place and enjoy!

From the first moment, entering the Hotel Cenacolo Assisi, the atmosphere is a world apart, made of simple and precious things, where hospitality meets the Franciscan tradition in this wonderful city of peace, Assisi, to experience strong emotions. The Hotel Cenacolo Assisi is the Franciscan Hotel of Santa Maria degli Angeli, where a skilful restoration has allowed us to maintain the original structure, respecting its suggestions and connotations as convent. The architectural elements and materials used, such as the stone of Assisi, along with steel and glass, are a masterful blend of ancient and modern. At Hotel Cenacolo Assisi you will enjoy some wonderful days in Assisi. Stay in one of our comfortable guestrooms including classic, superior rooms and junior suites, perfect for getaways with your partner or with friends. Likewise, you will enjoy great moments with yours in our beautiful cloister, a very special venue to celebrate your wedding.
Very pleasant stay. We were very satisfied with the room and the staff and pleasantly surprised by the choice and service of the breakfast. The only negative thing I can say is that the shower is quite small and the TV is very small and can only receive local channels.

Hotel Giotto in the center of Assisi The location in the center of Assisi, different types of rooms, beautiful suites with all the comforts, COFFEE SHOP with a panoramic terrace overlooking the entire Umbrian valley , RESTAURANT with more than 600 seats offering typical revisited dishes, specialist in EVENTS and WEDDING. A CONFERENCE CENTER with advanced equipment and finally a SPA, directed by professionals of WELLNESS, ideal to find the balance soul - body.
We really enjoyed our one night stay here. Most private vehicles are not allowed all the way up the hill to the hotel so be prepared to take a taxi. The hotel floor levels are oddly numbered in the elevator(s) so ask which way to go before taking one. US customers: they do not turn on the AC here until mid-May so be prepared to sleep with the windows open. We were very comfortable in early May since the night-time temps were in the low 60s. Some rooms have splendid views of the valley below and others do not so ask for a room with a view. The restaurant is in the basement. We had one group evening meal and one breakfast here. Both meals were very good.

Clean, modern rooms contain great beds, efficient bathrooms, fresh linens, and fast Wi-Fi. The family are friendly and attentive - full of helpful suggestions on everything from dining to tours! This is our first of what will be many visits!
