It’s paradise. Gazing onto the turquoise waters of Arugambay Roccos, is a comfortable boutique hotel minutes away from the world famous surf point. The unique view of the pool, beach and ocean can only be experienced at this beautiful property.
The Hotel is located in nice quiet place which is ideal for the peaceful time that anyone expect in a vacation. The space & comforts of the room was excellent. My family really enjoyed the swimming pool. Best thing was the smiling & very attentive staff. Everyone was very kind and nice to us. Definitely will visit again.

We have stayed at 3 places in A Bay and this was the best! Clean, comfortable rooms with instant hot water and new AC units. Hammocks to relax in. Faizel the owner is extraordinarily helpful and friendly. He makes a good breakfast and an incredible dinner of hummus, falafel and salad. Ask him about it! A few minutes walk to the Main Street and Main Point. Highly recommended.

Overlooking the Whisky Point surfing spot in Arugam Bay, Paper Moon Kudils of Whisky Point Resorts is a beachside getaway made up of a cluster of rustic ‘kudils’ that offer a charmed way of life. Whisky Point is a popular spot for novice surfers with slow rolling waves. Combined with the laidback beach expanse the ‘Kudils’ offer a potent setting for letting loose and embracing a simple beach lifestyle. Things are run in an unconventional way at Paper Moon Kudils, which is very much a part of the locality. Expect some warm hospitality and your input and encouragement are highly valued at any time. While you ease into your home away from home, there are a few DIYs to keep in mind during your stay to encourage energy efficiency and environmentally friendly ways of holidaying to your heart’s content. Read on and find out more. Arugambay Roccos, our sister property, is located along Main Street, Arugambay.
We booked 3 rooms on a local holiday and informed the hotel that it would be a late checkin when the booking is done. Also we contacted the restaurant and ordered some foods for the dinner while we are on the way to the hotel and informed that it would be 10PM when we arrive there. The staff looked bit arrogant with our late arrival and wonder why because we have informed them that we would be late. Even some vulgar words were exchanged among restaurant manager and staff because of our arrival. We do understand the nature of such late checkin but they had enough time to mentally prepare even if they are angry on our late arrival. The rooms were good in condition and worth the price. Location is good and property had been managed well. After check in, we came for the dinner and some of us were preparing to have a drink. Though we have ordered the foods and bites 3 hours earlier, it took around 30 minutes to arrange them for table, which is OK for us. We requested to arrange the dinner in the cabana hall and they agreed for it. The foods were terrible and the worst we had in our lives. There were no sea food in the "sea food fried rice". There are better food on streets than in this hotel. The prices are OK for a hotel meal but the quality of food were very poor. There were 6-8 dogs circulating around us while we are having dinner and some of them were always lied under the dinner table. The staff gave a minimum try to remove them but after we had to do it by our own. We do love dogs but cannot accept such type of a sorrounding when we are having meals. There were not enough space to keep the foods that we ordered and we kept them on another table near by. Suddenly noticed that the dogs are eating the foods climbing on to the tables. It was very disgusting and we were very embarassed. There were no any staff member to inform and attend to these issues. The pool was not cleaned but a staff member cleaned it in the morning. All other facilities are averagely OK except customer service, hygiene and foods. The prices of foods are normal restaurant prices but the quality of the foods are very low, worse than a street hotel. Even the restaurant manager accepted it but charged the same price. Will not recommend this place to any one and will not visit this terrible place again.

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the main surf beach - you just have to cross the road and walk through a field adjoining the lagoon. Safety cannot be better since there is a Security forces detachment across the road. The owner, a retired senior Air Force Officer, lives in the hotel, maintains very high standards and knows the area and the whole of Sri Lanka intimately. Great rooftop entertainment space which overlooks both sea and lagoon, ideal for sundowners while listening to the surf pounding the beach. Highlight of my visit was a camping trip organised very professionally by the hotel to Kumana National Park. In addition to all the usual wildlife I saw 3 leopards during the evening and morning game drive. Camping by a river in the middle of the jungle, with a campfire cooking delicious BBQ'd food and a brilliant star filled night sky overhead is to be very highly recommended.

The Italian managed, contemporary hotel is a new addition to the ever-growing luxury accommodation Arugam bay list. With its eye-catching wooden finishing furniture, cozy décor and calming color palette, this is a resort that is becoming a tourist favorite. The spectacular view of the garden and the beckoning eyeshot of the pool will enhance your stay. The in-house open air restaurant with delicious local and international cuisine hosts DJ nights, movie screenings and so many other activities to kill time while not roaming through the coastal streets of Arugam.
We spent a week at Shell resort and it is a bit of a mixed bag. - One the positive, the room was nicely decorated and the bed, very comfortable. The pool was lovely and fresh and it was very enjoyable to spend a few hours by it in the heat of the afternoon. The staff is lovely and happy to help, as well as efficient. The location is outside Arugam Bay itself - about 15 minutes walk - it means that it is quiet yet very convenient as the walk is super safe and mostly lighted by night. The transfer to and from the airport was efficient and comfortable (in a mini-bus). - On the negative, the bathroom was super basic: no hot water, barely water pressure in the shower and it leaked constantly. The room did not get done unless we asked for it and the amenities (shampoo) are almost inexistent. Given the price, we were expecting more upmarket place. The restaurant is just okay - breakfast was basic - fine but a little boring.

Featuring a garden, Riva del Sole is located in Arugam Bay and is 8 km from Muhudu Maha Viharaya. Providing a restaurant, the property also features a terrace. Magul Maha Viharaya is 19.3 km from the resort. All guest rooms at the resort come with a seating area. Every room is equipped with a private bathroom and a bath, and certain units at Riva del Sole have a balcony.
We enjoyed very much and nice staff and food. Room rates are attractive, close to the beach. Easy access to sight seeing such as Elephant Rovk which is amazing and close to Muhudu Maha Viharaya too. Owners of the hotel are very kind and helpful.
