This restaurant at the over-rated Le Cap Est is perhaps the biggest disappointment on the island. The restaurant is understaffed. There are not enough menus. After the first 3 tables are seated, you have to wait at least 1/2 hour to be seated. Then you wait again for a menu (another 1/2 hour). The appetizer takes approximately 45 minutes, then the entree another 45 minutes. This is not leisurely dining. This is just disgraceful. The staff just seem overwhelmed and really don't care. This is not a one time experience. I was held captive at the hotel for 4 meals. It never got any better. For the prices that are charged, it should be a gourmet dining experience with stellar service. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

Situé en bord de bassin dâun petit port de plaisance familiale, vous serez séduis par nos cocktails maison et notre cuisine métissée. Pour un repas entre amis ou un simple vers, nous vous accueillons midi et soir dans une ambiance décontractée.
I was yesterday (Thursday) night with my partner and the bar woman and the waitress were AWESOME!! I didnât catch her names, but seriously, amazing service. Over the top, caring a lot for our needs. Iâm a college teacher in quality management and hospitality service. She even recommended places to visit in the island! The food was really good too!!So I can say that the quality perceived was a lot over the expectations that I had!! CONGRATULATIONS!

My husband had quail, over cooked. I had grilled fish, also over cooked. Rice was terrible. The place is nice, the setting fabulous, there is even a resident bunny rabbit. Took forever to get there, and that is some of the problem, if you don't have a lot of turn over how do you prep for an extensive menu. And we thought the service was mediocre: the waiter told us the special was sea urchin -- but they were out of it, we were the first table of four they served for lunch.

Service is a touch slow, but the food is well worth the wait. The place is known for its kebab evenings, specially the "lambis" ones. They also have grilled meat and fish, but I haven't tried these - I always go for the kebabs :)

We arrived for dinner after having corresponding with a general manager who apparently left the hotel two days before we arrived. The restaurant was super accommodating in ensuring that our pre-planned (vegetarian) menu would be available to us. The restaurant was super nice and the food delicious. We had an incredible meal. The hotel and restaurant are located at the end of a deserted road which is pretty dark at night so you might consider going during lunch.

The decor is really chic here at Plein Soleil. The artwork is fantastic. We rented a bungalow suite with a little private pool, the room was very large and the bathroom was big too. To get to Plein Soleil you have to come down a 20 minute drive through banana fields on a dirt road filled with holes, and no signs. When the taxi was bringing us it was at night and it really was strange to travel to a hotel on a road like that. It was much worse than any country roads or dirt roads in the Caribbean or anywhere else that I've ever seen. There were actually hubcaps in the road from having popped off of someone's car on the rough drive. The hotel is very remote and once you get there you feel totally trapped unless you rent a car. A taxi anywhere will cost you 60 to 100 euro. The wifi in the hotel doesn't really work unless you're in the lobby and even then its spotty. The air-conditioning doesn't really work either. So it can be really uncomfortable warm. The staff is really nice and the food is terrific although there isn't really a menu for dinner its just a choice of fish or beef. That said, the food was super tasty french food (creamy sauces).

Another kudo to trip adviser for sending us to this restaurant. Beautiful outdoor setting with multiple unique seating areas. Food fantastic. Service awesome. Raffael was super friendly and bought us all shots of rum after dinner. We had the duck, steak and dorado, all excellent. They were willing to make vegetarian meals for two of our party. All around great meal and highly recommend
