Sanitary conditions near the food bar were atrocious. Poor selections for the price we paid. One-man operation? We didn't like the taste of most of what we tried. Cabbage rolls were good; soup was OK. Soft-serve ice cream was good. We won't go back. Few meat selections. Toku rather than potatoes.

Hoped for a quick and decent breakfast, but got neither. People who were seated after we were, received their meals, ate, paid and left before we even got our food. This is despite 2 simple breakfast orders placed quickly after arrival. My eggs were cold. Stone cold. Husband's bacon was so gross that the server asked if it was ok, because "I don't like the looks of this." She didn't care enough to tell the cook to do it better before she brought it out though. Took 3 requests for a glass of water to accompany the coffees. These folks take no pride in their restaurant, the food, or their service. The place was nasty. There is a donut shop next door if you are really hungry and I would recommend it over Waffle House. Otherwise--keep driving.
We wanted to find local BBQ and if this is it, Iâd drive on. The woman taking orders on a Saturday for lunch was grouchy and the food was just average. We had the BBQ sandwich combo which was a sandwich, fries and drink for $7.50. The decor is beach signs, everywhere!

We were a group of 4 couples that decided to try this restaurant because the options in Forrest City were limited. The antique shop area you go thru to get to the restaurant had an old, musty odor that was NOT appealing for a restaurant. Our waitress was rather scatterbrained, smart-alecky and very immature. One person ordered simply a baked potato as her meal. This person did not get her baked potato until the very end - AFTER everyone else had already received their food & eaten (person that ordered steak even got their food before the simple baked potato). When potato did finally get to the table, it was only very lightly cooked, pretty much still raw inside, and the cheese topping was cold & congealed. NOT recommended!

This hidden gem is less than a half-mile off of the interstate, but it's tucked away in a series of small shops reminiscent of neighborhood cottages.I was warmly greeted when I entered and picked the table of my choosing. Their menu is centered around seafood, alligator and other Cajun dishes.I picked their Shrimp basket and was given a choice of sides; fries and cole slaw, or corn and potatoes. The shrimp basket also came with three corn nuggets. I was offered a choice of mild or spicy and chose spicy. This meal did not disappoint. The shrimp were lightly coated and fried perfectly, very moist and tender. The corn and potatoes were what would come out of a crawfish or seafood boil and were both spicy and delicious. The staff were very pleasant and cordial, the food was truly five star, and yes, the dining room is quite Spartan but hey, you come for the food, right?Definitely a Hidden Gem and well worth a visit.

If this IS the #1 restaurant in Forrest City I feel sorry for the residents of that town.On the positive side, the service was very good...pleasant young lady. Now to the food......Green beans were highly recommended.....WAY too salty.Baked beans were OK but nothing special. None of the meats exhibited having been exposed to smoke. The chicken was 'non-descript'. The brisket was over-cooked and 'mushy'. The ribs were very greasy.Sorry.....I can do better at home. We stopped here because of the rating and the hope that Southern BBQ would be better than we can do at home in the North!!!In this case, it didn't happen.
