This place was packed when we visited. A friend suggested it as their favorite Mexican place. My hopes were high, but I wasn't impressed. Salsa and chips were so-so. The dish I got tasted salty and not spicy enough. It kind of reminded me of "Mexican dishes" old German grandmas would make for church pot lucks...Lots of canned soups, velvetta cheese, and no spice. Some people really like that style, it just isn't for me.
This place has an outstanding menu, and the food is really great. It is moderately priced with large portions. Tamales are larger than what you normally get in the fort smith area. The chips and salsa you receive with your meal are very good and fresh. I will most assuredly be returning for another visit.
We stopped here to beat the heat and enjoy a cold beer. The server still brought us hips and sals, both homemade, and served our beers in exceptionally chilled mugs. Too early for dinner but the food smelled fabulous! I canât wait for the next road trip!

This place has quickly became my favorite Mexican food in the fort. Been there three times and headed back this evening. All three times, the service has been fantastic and the food is delicious. So far I have ordered the Enchiladas Habaneras, the Cimichanga, Queso, and my favorite the Fajitas Flameada. I always have liked Fajitas but thought they should be served with cheese. This one is...and BACON. Lots of BACON. With the meal comes choice of flour or corn tortillas. I ordered the corn.As a tip, if you want to try something different in a margarita ask the bartender for a Jalapeno margarita. It's not on the menu but they do a great job. Expect a little spice because unlike other Jalapeno margaritas I've had, this one is made with ground up peppers (instead of slices). This adds a nice kick and stronger flavor to the drink. And then of course, every margarita comes with a second regular margarita for only $.01.

Can't go wrong on Fridays with this daily special. Their warm tortillas chips and thick salsa are yummy. The lunch fahita was enough food to roll 3 chicken fajitas. Sides included rice and refried beans. The set-up includes pico de gallo, sour cream, shredded cheese, lettuce and a ramkin of garlic butter. The tab was $7.

We love their tacos and tortas! Delicious! I highly recommend the steak and pork tacos. So yummy! My husband loves the tortas (sandwiches) and they are HUGE. Enough for 2 people or two meals.

We frequent the La Huerta on Rogers. I think it is much better than the one downtown. My husband and I love to share the Razorback fajitas...beef, bacon, onions, and pineapple. It also comes with rice and beans. It is more than enough food for a couple, unless you are a really big eater. The tortillas are homemade and delicious...we always order extra since we share. I also like to get the cheesedip with beans in it! SO Good. The food is hot and delicious. You wont be disappointed.

My husband and I went a little further down the beaten path to try out a place recommended to us by a co-worker. The exterior of the restaurant seemed super fancy, so we sat for a moment to see what the other patrons were wearing before entering. The atmosphere inside was a little more casual and comfortable, but uniquely decorated. Big open dining room, perfect for families or social situations with large groups. Tasty food with a decent selection, and all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and super enthusiastic about the restaurant. When the hostess found out this was our first visit, she seemed very proud to have us there. This restaurant is worth a little bit more of a drive to get the quality service and food!

Conveniently located downtown with parking we decided to give this a shot. The server was fast and attentive and the food arrived quickly. They had decent salsa and pretty average queso. Nothing special. This sentiment continued after the food came. It was all good but just about like every other place. No really interesting flavors or unique ideas here. I would eat here again if needed but would like something different. Great staff though.

While this restaurant serves excellent Mexican food, be sure and flip to the back part of the menu. The Central American fare - Salvadoran, Nicaraguan, etc - is outstanding! I highly recommend Mercedes Favorites! It is a sampling of many different foods that will delight your taste buds and tummy! Be sure and get the plantains...they are sweet and tart and melt in your mouth! From the Margaritas to the coffee and all beverages inbetween are fresh and delicious! Mercedes (the owner) is so sweet and truly cares if you are completely satisfied. Once you try it, I am sure this will become a favorite of yours as well!
