Tokyo Sushi and Bar

This little place is located right down the street from the U of A; that being said, many of its regular patrons are college students. I'm not sure if that's why the service here is always just so-so. It isn't the service that keeps me coming back here, though, but the sushi and the ramyun soup, which are consistently good. I have visited this establishment on several occasions. The food never disappoints. The ramyun soup is like a spicy ramen noodle soup; it is served piping hot with a poached egg inside of it. The sushi is always fresh, never fishy. Serving sizes are plentiful, too, which is a plus. Prices are consistent with other sushi restaurants in the area. You can't beat the lunch special, either. For $8.95, you get the ramyun soup, a large sushi roll, appetizer soup (broth) and a small salad. Edamame is served to all tables to snack on before the food arrives.I think the wait staff could be more attentive here. They are consistently lackadaisical in checking on their seated customers. I'm not sure why this is. After they deliver your order, you don't see them again until at the end of the meal when they deliver your check. Don't count on getting any water refills (or anything else you might need) during your meal because it just isn't going to happen. That is why I am scoring them as just "average". They could (should) be more accommodating to their customers.Last - but certainly not least - the only public exit at the front of the building consists of a single doorway and 2 large steps to walk up before you get inside. While OK for most people, I don't know how someone who is physically disabled (in a wheelchair) could access the restaurant between the stairs and the narrow entranceway.

After the new management came in, the food was better. But, each time we come....the food isn't consistent. Why is the egg drop soup almost orange? What oil are they frying in? Why did you change the egg rolls? The spicy mustard is the same...great! Hunan beef and broccoli is even better than before. Why did the portion size change? You changed the fried rice!!! I just don't know if I want to continue to play Chinese food roulette.

They have delicious food here and in the past we have especially enjoyed the special Valentine's Day menu. This time we picked from the main menu mostly but enjoyed the heart shaped appetizer Neapolitan sushi and the dessert option from the Valentine's Day menu too.

Thai E San

Great fresh and fast! But beware that their spicy hot scale is hotter than any other thai place I have been. I usually get the "thai hot" at other places and wow it is really hot here! But wonderful! Fresh basil rolls are great. The massaman curry is also great but they put a little spin on it. The clear noodle seafood dish is amazing!

Wasabi

Wasabi is a good option for when it’s warm and you want to sit outside. The patio is close enough to Dickson St. that you get the atmosphere but far enough from the street that the noise isn't overwhelming. I always get Unagi and then the Crystal Summer (ask for the spicy version) although they have many good items on the menu. From time to time they have live music which is usually really good. They have a good bar inside but my wife always wants to sit outside. The service and food have always been really good. This is one of our favorite Dickson St. patios.

Kobe Sushi & Grill

Reviewed By MartinTravelAddict

Our extended family visited Kobe for our second dine in the past two years. We were delighted with our crab and scallop cake appetizer, sushi, bento boxes, and hibachi grilled entrees. I ordered the lobster tail roll which was huge and so very delicious! I highly recommend Kobe for a special night out for a couple or for a family special event. Our only disappointment was that one of our family members who only drinks beer as an adult beverage was told that they were out of the three draft beers on the menu that he had wanted. The plum wine was also quite good, as was the Miso soup.

Thep Thai

Reviewed By Dhplad1

First time visiting this Thai restaurant south of downtown Fayetteville on old 71 business and state highway 16. I was pleasantly surprised at the updated furnishings and open atmosphere with lots of light. I Ordered # 16 Pad Khing ( stir fried with gingers, green onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and black mushrooms). $9.50Also ordered the crab Rangoon as an appetizer. Crab cane out rather quickly, thank goodness, as we were hungry! The main course took a while longer and came out very staggered for our table of 8. Overall food was good, fresh but nothing that was special or unique to them.

We were in the area on business and had decided on sushi for dinner. We came across this restaurant and our first impression was fast food sushi. Not our style, but I googled it and saw the rating was 4.6 with 300 reviews. We decided to give it a try and it was very impressive. From seafood salad to sushi, it could not have been better. Staff was attentive and friendly too.

A Taste of Thai

Reviewed By meezerfan

My husband and I decided to eat here after reading all of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we won't be going back. When we arrived we stood waiting to bee acknowledged for longer than necessary given it wasn't crowded. After being seated we weren't given menus for almost five minutes. When the waitress finally did bring menus, she dropped them off and then dropped the water off at the table directly to our right. She then turned around immediately and asked for our order. We ended up getting the summer rolls, chicken pad thai at a 2 spice level, and beef pad kaprow at a 3 spice level. The levels only go to five and we weren't sure how spicy they go here. The summer rolls didn't have enough flavor or shrimp. The pad thai was sickeningly sweet. I'm not an expert on thai flavors, so maybe that's how it is supposed to be - but it almost tasted like sweet tea sauce on the noodles. I couldn't get the fish sauce and there wasn't much in the way of greens for relief. It was not spicy at all.The pad kaprow was pretty bland. For a 3/5 spice level we expected to be able to taste something - but there was nothing. This was the better of the two dishes. Overall, we left feeling a bit ill. The food didn't sit well. Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from!
