The reviews are what led us to try the sushi here. Not very imaginative rolls except for the crunchy spicy tuna roll which had a block of crunchy fried rice on the bottom. The other 3 rolls were ok. Fish seemed fresh but shrimp tempura seemed reheated. Miso Soup needed salt. Overall... 73 bucks for not a ton of food. Rolls were small. They did accommodate our request for soy paper though.

Our menu features prime cut steaks, seafood, and vegetables with unique Japanese-inspired marinades and sauces, along with sushi, sashimi, tempura, and extraordinary desserts. The menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal offerings. Roka Akor Scottsdale
Friendly/competent service: good help with understanding some menu items, good recommendations and 'why,' Pacing of the dishes could have been smoother.Food: excellent, tasty. Tempura was light and fresh. Had the Wagyu from the Yamaguchi Prefecture and Wagyu from the Miyazaki Prefecture. Cooked nicely. At $48 per ounce, it's not cheap, but then we didn't expect it to be. I don't mind paying for good food.Ambience: better than the photos looked on the website. Much more cozy and warm. We had a table for 4, kind of tucked in a front corner, low lighting, comfortable colors. Very nice.Dear WillWork,Thank you so much for your kind review. We love to read that you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to serving you again soon!Sincerely,Paul Gerhard | General Manager | Roka Akor480-306-8800 | [email protected]

Very friendly attendants and wait staff that know all the right answers and very accommodating with special requests. The menu is exciting with a lot of variety. The civiche is especially good along with the seafood.

We dined here on our last night of our girlâs trip. I selected this resto based on reviews and prayed that my friends would love it. Well, we were not disappointed. Yay!!! The menu is extensive so it was a bit overwhelming to choose. Our wonderful server, Erica, suggested that we opt for the chefâs tasting where we would get the chance to taste many of their top dishes. It was perfect! We had the pomegranate guacamole, tacos, kimchee fried rice, sea bass, sumo rolls, shaking beef, ceviche and more! Erica surprised us with dessert so that was so sweet! Thank you Erica!! We, 7, ladies were happy. Oh the space! Very spacious. It was in a plaza so I figured plenty of parking. Not 100% sure since we used Uber. Anyway, there was a tree in the middle of the restaurant which was captivating. Nice wide bar with huge TVs. We were seated in the patio. It was nice and not too hot (dinner was around 7pm). Type of music was great and not too loud that you canât hear yourself speak but enough to feel like you were at a lounge somewhere. Great ambiance and food overall. Definitely a place to check out in Scottsdale.
