Things to do in Douglas
If you find yourself in Douglas, AZ and have never tried a horchata, do it! We've had horchatas in several mexican restaurants and all our friends agree, this is simply the best. No complaints on the food, tasty at a decent price.
Fathers delight. Great fried rice. Suggest you try this place. Not sure about Sushi ( I do NOT eat raw fish)
I ordered the baked tilapia plate, and thought 'that was mistake.' Oh no. The fish was beautifully cooked, the accompanying vegetables were the first "real" mixed vegetable dish I had had in 2 months in NM and AZ and those black beans were dandy.

Mexican/American Food Gourmet approved (Dec .96) Great food With Low Prices!! Come on by or call and place your order
Tucked away in a nondescript seemingly run down building in the old downtown part of Douglas, AZ, this place stands out. Their Mexican food is served hot with just the right amount of heat to let you know you want water. Like so many places in now defunct mining towns you have to search out the really good places; this is such a place.
I was surprised to see so many meat-free entrees in a traditional Mexican restaurant. I really wanted to order the potato tacos, but I love chili rellenos, so that's what I ordered. DH had the cheese enchiladas. The cafe is sunny, clean and cute. Our server was very attentive. The chips and salsa are complimentary; I don't care for a thin salsa so it was just okay. The enchiladas were filling and good. I didn't realize that my chili rellenos would be breaded, a downside, but still very good. Both came with rice and beans. We will visit again

Great place to go to share. Chatita's offers family style dining with huge platters filled with steak, chicken, and shrimp OR a seafood version with fish and shrimp. Some fried, some baked, some wrapped in bacon. Plus beans and rice. The platters come with a couple of roasted green chile peppers, nice touch. The queso and guacamole appetizers were yummy, too. Tab was only about $20 person (no alcohol, though you can bring your own), a bargain. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but fun.

We tried this little restaurant when we were visiting Douglas AZ. Although there was a massive rain storm that took out the power, they still provided great service and good food. We enjoyed dining to the glow of the restaurant owners car headlights! We will visit again hopefully with light this time!

Food was good and hot but took forever. The waitress was constantly moving, busing tables, so it wasn't her that was sliding things down. We were here late afternoon Saturday and they close at 5. I'm guessing the cook was cleaning the kitchen in anticipation of closing, as there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. Debatable whether we would return.
