We searched Trip Advisor for the best restaurants in Argostoli and Casa Gred was highly recommended, it did not disappoint. I can best describe it as good food well cooked. We enjoyed Chicken with Haloumi and Salmon Verde, both excellent.
The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Went to this restaurant after a recommendation from our hotel. Was quiet in there as was raining. There were six of us dining. We all enjoyed what we had. The seabass was delicious. Couldn't understand some of the reviews. We would highly recommend this restaurant as food and service was good.

We visited Ampelaki during our stay last month in Argostoli after Reading great reviews on here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
To start, I had the halloumi which was simply delicious. My friend had the feta and tomatoes with bread which was very fresh and tasty and a very large portion, so much so I had to help him eat some of it.
For mains, we had lamb and chicken which came in delicious sauces with rice.
We both enjoyed nice glasses of red and white wine.
The service was nice and friendly and efficient.
The restaurant was busy with a mixture of tourists and locals, always a good sign.
The decor was simple but effective.
Would recommend Ampelaki and would return again.

I didn't check T.A. reviews before having lunch here. I am on holidays, plenty of time and was hungry. The restaurant itself looks very clean and welcoming.
Unfortunately, I did not have any friendly welcoming. The 2 ladies seemed extremely busy although hardly 30% of the tables were occupied. It gave me an impression of disturbing them. I am comparing of course to other restaurants on the island and elsewhere in Greece where the attention to customers' is at it's best!
I ordered a green salad (it was not properly cleaned, left half of it) and local sausages. There were 2 styles; I ordered the simple grilled one and got the one stewed in a spicy sauce. Not a big deal, but when you order something, you expect to get it. Neither lady asked me if my meal was OK or offered any other kind of attention.
A fairly light lunch while having in mind to order desert if I was hungry enough; but I didn't bother.
Hardly any welcome, no friendly service and a basic green salad that is not cleaned properly is enough for me to avoid this restaurant in future, even if other dishes may be good.
NOT recommended.

Some of the dishes are good, however the service has been deteriorated since the last time I visited this restaurant. The staff seems to not care. For instance, I ordered onion bread with cheese for starter and the bread was served almost burned and when I made a little complaint, the tender said that this how they serve it. However, the pasta (spaghetti) I had was delicious and al dente!

This is where the locals go. Really GOOD food, fresh and with excellent service. A MUST have dish is the Bamias (zuchini) and the Xorta (greens). Everything we had here was amazing the and staff very friendly and welcoming.

Greek and Italian dishies also wood oven pizza offered in a calm enviroment of the garden in the back of the restaurant.
Fancied a change from Greek taverna food and was delighted to spot Paralos. We all had Pizzas and they were all great, as was the service. Highly recommended.

The food was the worst I've had in Greece!! We ordered moussaka which was so hard on the top it had a dry crust! Tasteless & dry throughout. We also ordered the cefalonian meat pie which was so dry & was totally inedible. Can't believe the amount of good reviews given this establishment.

"Delicious, reasonably priced, homemade food...Perfect for meat lovers" Most of the dishes are served on grease proof paper making the experience unforgettable!!
We visited Ladokolla twice for lunch, having gyros on both occasions. Many different types of gyros, I had meatballs and pork, my husband had vegetarian ( by mistake!) and spicy beef. All were tasty and served straight onto greaseproof paper, as in previous reviews.
Probably not somewhere for an evening meal as very basic, but would probably try if there again in the summer.

We had booked to celebrate our Anniversary and were greeted immediately by the owner who showed us to the best table for two with a stunning panoramic view that was breathtaking
We were advised on the wine list and chose a local white rabola named Sarris and it lived up to expectations
We shared a castle salad (the dressing was perfect ) and garlic prawns cooked just right followed by Rabbit for me (sorry vegetarians but you can be accommodated too ) and steak and eggs for my partner
again everything was delicious we were given a local aperitif on the house and as it was a special occasion we shared a chocolate suffle and ice cream just Devine and finished off with coffee
We had an extremely pleasant afternoon there and were looked after by the staff very well we had delicious food and great wine so absolutely nothing to fault this place is a wonderful find and well worth a visit
