My son had his birthday in Baluarte and we stayed for two nights. We had a great time and the staff were very accommodating and always try to assist us in any way. Miss Sally also answered all my questions promptly in facebook despite our time difference. If you are looking for a fancy place to stay in Argao, this is not for you. But if you want a homey feel, no frills, chill location, then this definitely is the place to be.

Amazing place for those looking to Visit cebu and get away from the main, busy tourist areas! The host George was extremely accomodating and was so passionate about giving our small family a great experience, went out of his way to accommodate our dietary needs and the food was fresh and amazing! All ingredients are sourced from locals and rid of GMO’s. George is an excellent chef and seems to love to experiment flavours and dishes. You can expect a very different experience, if your after a commercial resort experience and expecting systematic service this isnt the place for you. The perfect place for those wanting a more personal experience. Great place to stay if you want to experience life near the locals. George got to know us and didnt fail once. Very homely stay with an excellent view and a beautiful sunrise every morning! Very unique stay. Room was excellent and well kept. If your wanting to visit all the main tourist attractions and activities it might be a good idea to rent a car or bike ( george has bikes for rent ) or you can organise through the resort. Wifi is decent but remember you’re in the Phillipines and theres no issues with reception so you can go back and forth between wifi and data depending on where your sitting. This place will help you to get off your phone and breathe for a minute. All in all we had a great experience and are very grateful to have landed at this resort as George and his partner really made sure we were taken care of. I will definitely be back for a stay or even if its to visit George for a coffee ? great for everyone! Familys, couples, groups or even lonely travellers who need time away from cities and life. 10/10

Pros: Instagrammable Picture worthy Food so cheap Pool so big Room so neat Cons: Room so far from the pool. You had to walk 3mins to get in the pool. You can choose to ride their shuttle No ref in the room No telephone in the room. You had to call them via cp (if you had no load to call, well too bad then) Breakfast is plated. Limited options Pool area has no shade. No trees at the side. So hot at peak hours 10am-3pm. (sunburn, hello) No rooms near the pool area but their house for rent or they call it villa (20k/night) Not much of facilties present. Just the pool and beach I asked for housekeeping since they only provided 1 thin floor rug. (front desk asked why do I need housekeeping) LOL 1st time in history I was asked that question tho. I don’t think will go back. Not worth the price

We found ourselves "homeless" after our ferry from Argao to Tagbilaran was cancelled due to news of a typhoon. Jumping a trike we found ourselves in Argao - as the time was moving on (& we wanted to settle ) we found this accommodation online - it looked like it was available so we made our way there only to be greeted by a big happy smile. We were welcomed as if we had a booking, the housekeeper called the owner to make sure we could have a room she said yes. This is a beautiful home - owned I think by a German lady it has all the touches from home ( & many more kitchen utensils & gadgets than we have in our own home! ) This is one fully operational kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, sandwich maker, rice cooker ect..... Set in lush gardens behind a security gate, this residential area feels safe. Two bedrooms upstairs & a bedroom downstairs with a separate shower room - we chose the room downstairs for convenience. The kitchen is communal & as we were the only couple staying we had the place to ourselves. The housekeeper lives next door & changes to towels daily - we initially were due to stay only 1 night ... however we ended staying two because A - the ferry was still cancelled & B. because it was so cozy. The town is a little drive away & we enjoyed popping out on the moped to buy some fresh vegetables from the market - This lovely home would make a great base for a big family as it has everything - the 'roll on roll off Ferry is about 7kl away here you can take your vehicle ( car / bike ) to Bohol should you wish to explore further afield.

No hot water for shower and toilet backed up on the 2nd night of stay. The cafe/restaurant at the Pension was never open, and the room had an old musty smell to it. Noises from outside were sometimes loud considering that it is right off the main road at a busy intersection. No near restaurants, only bakery shops and suri suri stores for snacks and beverages. The closest restaurant was a 15 minute walk away at theTaloot Pier.
