We visited the Blue Sky Cafe on our way out of town. Fletcher is about 30 minutes south of the Biltmore, which is on the south side of Asheville. It was a perfect stop for a fairly quick, delicious lunch. We showed up about 2:30pm...MoreWe hope you enjoyed your visit to Asheville! Thank you for taking the time to review us. This is the best burger place in Asheville and one of the best in the region. Burgers are hand made and menu has variety of options. The fries are addictive. Shakes are thick and tasty. I don't know how many times I've eaten here in the last 10 years, but easily once every 2 weeks because it is so darn good.

At Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, we pay homage to "Tennessee style" hot chicken and southern soul food. We prepare our unique fried chicken to order and it all starts as "Plain". From there we can add the spice from mild to XX hot (lots of folk just love it without any spice).
I love the chicken here. I get it Mild which is somewhat spicy but you can get it hotter or you can get it without spice - still the best fried chicken and the pieces are really large. If you're in Asheville and want fried chicken, try this place.
One word of caution, if you are coming for lunch the lines are much shorter before 11:30 or after the 12:00 rush.

The coffee was fantastic. The barista was a doll. And the place is really cute. The spinach and feta croissant was fantastic. But it was the only savory item on the menu. The rest was a lot of sweet stuff. I figure that I am odd, because I prefer savory over sweets. But, in the short time I was there another person inquired about savory items. You might want to consider adding them to selection. Not everyone adores sweet stuff with their coffee.

Western North Carolina is known for its love of food and passion for great craft beer. At our Mills River Taproom and Restaurant you’ll find an abundance of both. Visit the Taproom to sample one of our 23 beers on tap, many produced just a few feet from the restaurant. Beers are accompanied by artful, chef-driven food focused on small plate, sharable, whole animal and farm-to-table dishes sourced mainly from local suppliers. We are a first come, first serve restaurant. Please feel free to stop by the host stand to put your name on the list, or grab a beer and head outside to our Back Porch and Beer Garden to take in the views of the beautiful forest or stroll through our Mills River Estate Garden. We use the homegrown vegetables and herbs for our restaurant and small-scale pilot brewery.
This beautiful facility is more than a destination for beer lovers.
We took our grandson on a week day during lunch time.
The grounds are landscaped and the interior is composed of a large interesting restaurant, a large brewery offering various tours, educational displays, and museum type artifacts from the beer brewing industry.
In the restaurant, which is family friendly and a little noisy, we tried the four 2 oz beer sampler with help from the waiter and ordered house pizza and mild chicken wings with a soy glaze. The food was very good and would be reason enough to return.
After lunch we took the free self guided tour of the brewery and the packing and shipping operations by walking along a special mezzanine platform. All 3 of us had a great time and we were there for over two hours.

Best Pie in town and home of the original Pie Flights... you don't have to choose just one!
We got there a couple of hours before closing and they were already down to a select few pies. Unfortunately those were probably the ones that most ppl avoided through the day. They were ok. We had a flight so got to try a few....MoreThank you for the feedback and the review. We bake pies fresh for every day and sometimes demand outdoes supply. Please give us another try!

Wife & I each got a pulled pork sandwich and we tried 3 bones of Nekid and brown sugar ribs. We preferred the nekid ribs. We both tried the smoked potato salad which was different but tasty. I had the collards that were very good. Wife had mac & cheese that didn't look all that special.
We had been trying to eat here for years but were always busy during days when there and they have odd hours plus mainly a lunch spot. We made it this time on way to nearby orchards plus the leaves are way behind changing.

We are an independent cafe, bakery and tea room located in Arden, NC. We serve all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a wide variety of homemade baked goods. We welcome custom cake and cupcake orders, and also have a nice private room for events or meetings. We have a large dog-friendly patio as well. On Saturdays, we hold proper Afternoon Tea service. We make everything in house, from scratch, with as much locally-sourced ingredients as possible.
The breakfast was quite good - uncomplicated so it should have been.
Unfortunately, the outside tables were full of dust and pollen with clean napkins on them.
Also, the coffee. I don't know why but it actually took FOUR times before I was given a coffee I could drink. Not hot, filled with floating grounds, too weak .... shouldn't happen. The staff were very amiable and helpful. Still, there's a need to focus a tad more.

What a wonderful surprise to find Gai and her restaurant after several years of missing her cooking. We knew her in Greenville when she had a restaurant there. I was not surprised at all to find her food was even more stellar. I often have problems with Thai restaurants because of over-seasoning or inconsistent spiciness. NEVER is this a problem with Gai's food. My wife had a gluten-free version of Pad Thai and I had Spicy Basil. The waitress took the time to answer all of our questions (even the personal ones about Gai) and making sure our order was exactly what we wished.
Both of our dishes were plentiful, nicely presented, and so flavorful. The spiciness scale was 0-4. I ordered a two and it was just as I hoped for. The waitress brought out the spice tray so that I could experiment with their house-made spices. Oh My Gawd - how wonderfully flavored. I love heat in my food, but it also has to compliment the flavors and these did it phenomenally.
This was a trip to Thai heaven for us. We came during lunch, but I guaranteeing we'll be back for a nice cozy dinner for date night.

We don't eat Asian food very often but the food at Koreana was very good. I got sliced pork and my wife ordered a chicken dish. She was so impressed that she said she looked forward to returning. The service was fast and efficient.
