Got some buns, scones and cookies to take away on the way back from the beach. Lady at the counter was very helpful and offered to wrap up anything that was on the menu when I asked about take away. The service was excellent, even though the pub was busy. Soup with brown bread and dessert,Chocolate guinness cake were excellent. However the main courses were somewhat disappointing, the mackerel was just from a packet, just on a plate with loads of peas from frozen and the potatoes were just awful, small and unappetising looking. I expected at the least, fresh fish and good quality vegetables.very disappointing. The burger was from frozen slush, not fresh meat.

A great café. This is where you will enjoy great wholesome food at great prices. If you wish to see where the locals do their eating this is the place to be. Excellent fish and chips, great seafood chowder and massive portions. Do not expect fine dining here. Philomena and her staff will guarantee to send you away satisfied with the best of local home cooking. The atmosphere is good, the staff friendly and the conditions clean and sparkling. A great little local café.

The service was slightly chaotic, lots of staff but seemed to be flapping about a table of ten that had just come in before us....we had starters and main course x3...food was tasty,if a little overpriced. My gripe is that we asked for a jug of tap water, which came warm,...and then they charged €4.50 on the bill for it. No problem paying for water but if you are charging then a bit of ice and maybe lemon would be nice. Didn't realise I was charged for it until we got home or I would have said it to the staff then.

Right in the center of town is a lovely little pub that knows how to handle food. It's a popular spot that will fill up with diners. They are careful with the food and include a interesting variety of craft beer. The server was friendly and made the meal enjoyable.

This hotel/pub was conveniently situated onlya couple of hundred yards from our B&B.
There was a great atmosphere of warmth and friendliness and the food was perfectly cooked and presented and at very reasonable prices. Well done to the staff for being so friendly and helpful.

Ate twice at Whatchamacollums chip van in Ardara. First time was a Friday night and it looked like it was the McCollums who were cooking and serving. The food was great - fresh and tasty. Then had food on a Saturday when it was just one server on her own. The food tasted like it was reheated or refried. So overall 5 stars for Friday and 3 stars for Saturday.

Woodhill House is well known for its high quality and reasonably priced restaurant which accommodates house guests and the general public. The menu is French/Contemporary Irish based using fresh Irish produce, especially seafood from nearby Killybegs.
Beautiful old house with beautiful Gardens! We stayed in a lovely upstairs room overlooking the old walled garden. The sun shone and we sat on the balcony. So relaxing. Very welcoming and friendly and just a short stroll along a country road to the town where we enjoyed Nancy's.

If you are looking for a comfortable hotel with helpful staff and delicious food The Nesbitt Arms Ardara is the place to go. I had the pleasure of eating in the Ramblers Restaurant in the hotel on several occasions in the past year and each time was amazing. I had a beautiful meal here with 46 other people in October for our school reunion. The food was just amazing.... so much variety and cooked to perfection with fast efficient service from all staff. Claire , Liam and the team always make you feel so welcome and are very flexible with any requests made. What I like most is how welcoming they are to people with disabilities. We often eat here as a group of 22 and they accommodate all our needs e.g. wheelchair space , liquidised dinners , early Seating and quite a lot of noise !!!!
I also have eaten in this restaurant with just my partner and with my friend . The food has always been fantastic.... I especially love the Steaks which are massive and there is a comprehensive wine list too . The restaurant has been newly refurbished and is comfortable with a lovely relaxing atmosphere.
I can also highly recommend the breakfast.... Lots to choose from and nobody trying to rush you out the door.
I couldn't recommend highly enough.
