Arcos de la Frontera (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈarkoz ðe la fɾonˈteɾa]) is a town and municipality in the Sierra de Cádiz comarca, province of Cádiz, in Andalusia, Spain. It is located on the Northern, Western and Southern banks of the Guadalete river, which flows around three sides of the city under towering vertical cliffs, to Jerez and on to the Bay of Cádiz. The town commands a fine vista atop a sandstone ridge, from which the peak of San Cristóbal and the Guadalete Valley can be seen. The town gained its name by being the frontier of Spain's 13th century battle with the Moors.

We visited Arcos de la Frontera on my husband's birthday and thought this restaurant looked like a good place to have a birthday lunch.
We had a salad of tomato and ham, homemade meatballs and patatas bravas, all of which were homemade and delicious. For drinks, we had some ice cold beers.
The service was very friendly and professional and they gave us a complimentary dessert with 'happy birthday' candle to celebrate my husband's birthday.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was outstanding! And the view was to die for! We had local foods and wine, and we were thrilled. We plan to come back and spend a few days in this parador, as it is lovely!

A great place for lunch. Be sure to try the 'Crujiente de langostinos con calabacin'. It's a large shrimp ans slivered zucchini wrapped and friedlike an eggroll and serves with an amazing sauce. The mango salad with walnuts, fresh mozzarella and 'jamon de pato' was fantastic! And Sergio was a great and fun wsiter. Don't miss this place!

We are a small restaurant located at the gates of the old town of Arcos de la Frontera, our menu is composed of the traditional Moroccan meal, are authentic homemade dishes like our pastries handmade by ourselves. Our restaurant is decorated entirely by the Moroccan-style rooms have two tables one below 4 and one at the top of the local 5, is a cozy, romantic and quiet place where you can enjoy the smells, tastes and rhythms of music good ethnic, come to know.
We went there for supper and were attended by Oscar the the owner. The ambience was greatly relaxed and the music was excellent. The food was excellent and the prices really low. The owner was very interactive with us and we thoroughly enjoyed his company!

It was thanks to Trip Advisor we visited here but were still blown away by the quality and value of the food and drinks. We took a couple of friends, one a fussy eater, and none of us have much Spanish so picking dishes was a bit of a lottery. We were so pleased we arrived well early at 1.15pm as it gave us a chance to partly translate some of the dishes before they opened at 1.30pm.
It was our first experience of Tapas and all agreed it was brilliant. The meat in tomato sauce was so tender and tasty and the smoked salmon and cream cheese dish was great too. Our fussy eater tried everything and ate as much as the rest of us. The house red was excellent and the 7Up was........7UP !
We know the Tapas dishes were €2 each but don’t know what the drinks cost as our friends insisted on paying but the bill didn’t break him ;-)
Oh, and the loos were very clean too.

Hidden in a corner in Arcos de la Frontera can be found one of the most picturesque bars of the Andalusian region. It is the Bar-Hostel San Marcos, specialist in the cooking of the most exquisite dishes of this charming city, all of them based in local and traditional recipes. It is told that it was Paqui's grandmother, the owner, who cooked the last dragon that was mentioned by the first Castillian language poet in the province of Cádiz, native of Arcos: Don Diego Ximénez de Ayllón, who was born just a few steps away from the house where the current stablishment is located. Besides the restaurant services it also offers the hosting ones, having rooms where travellers can be accomodated. Rooms have TV, free WiFi, heating, air conditioning and private bathroom. It also have a private terraced roof with tables and chairs on the top of the building, from where can be seen amaizing views of the Guadalete river valley. The Cabildo's Square, parking place in the Old Town, is located a few metters away.
Don't order the chicken guacamole salad. It comes drenched in bottled Kraft thousand island dressing. Served over iceberg lettuce if you can believe that. The guac - well, I'm not sure what that was. I must be a frozen kind - looked more like thick split pea soup.
Loved our server. Really sweet lady.

This place was recommended by the Parador staff as a place the locals eat. It is very quaint and we ordered by asking those around us what they had-it all looked so good! The tapas were mouth watering- warm goat cheese with tomato jam, fried cuttlefish, tomatoes with olive oil and garlic, and Iberian ham and pork which is served over fried potatoes. These are the best tapas we've had so far in Spain!

We stopped in Avenida 34 for lunch and were greeted with friendly and welcoming service. Our host, Antonio, was very gracious and offered complimentary tapas, drinks and candies for the family. The menu was diverse with a variety of tapas and 1/2 raciones. Everything we chose was made to order and it was delicious - especially the Serrantino montadito and patatas bravos. Our children loved the cheeseburgers and lemon mousse. We have no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed our time.

We enjoyed a simple evening meal of vegetable soup followed by a half ration of chicken with dates and for me a delicious lamb Tagine. All helpfully described to avoid over ordering or a disappointing choice. Perfect for a cold evening having walked around the basilica and enjoying a tipple in Parador at sunset. The one disappointment stopping a 5 star review was having a table by the toilet entrance with the unavoidable aromas of disinfectant from time to time , while there was an unused room in the back.
