Reviewed By Clare PFabulous hotel in the centre of Arcachon, beautiful surroundings and close to the beach. Lovely clean apartment, well equipped, spacious and overlooking the attractive main square. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly too. We enjoyed using the hotel hot tub, steam room and roof top terrace. Good value and perfect for seeing the local area.

Fabulous location, friendly host
Reviewed By Karen HSpent two nights here in the heart of Arcachon, a couple of hundred yards from the centre of town. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped studio apartment which was just what we needed. Small but comfortable and there was everything that we needed. Rooms arranged around a courtyard so it's quiet and peaceful. Prices are very, very reasonable! Free laundry and book swap - always a plus!

Terrible! Bad service! Smelly and stuffy room, no fan provided. Facing lake welcoming mosquitoes.
Reviewed By FREYAupbeattravelerTerrible! Do not be deceived by the photos in hotel's website. Not worth to pay more than €50. We arrived at 1130hrs not possible to check-in which was understandable. We back 3pm reception was quiet still not possible to check-in. Went back 4pm there was a long line waiting to check-in. We asked for a higher floor room and was told not possible as they were full. Had a handicapped room on ground floor. Walked into room immediately smell urine, bathroom is old n stain. It is summer 28°c no fan provided and balcony facing lake welcoming mosquitoes so not possible to leave doors opened. Room is stuffy and smelly. We paid €140 a night, and we stayed 2 nights so €280 for no service, smelly and stuffy room. First and last we ever booked with this chain group of hotels.

Great location but somewhat disappointing
Reviewed By Shippers1970This studio apartment was reasonably priced, great location, had a bathtub and plentiful hot water. We had stayed here before so expected the decor to be tired and dated. But the reception was closed 90% of the time and the lack of staff clearly showed in the lack of attention to detail- the wifi did not work at all (it took us two days to even get the log in code as it was not in our room). We were a family of three given just two towels, which were not changed once all week despite a sign in bathroom saying they would be. And only two chairs on balcony, and 2 drinking glass only. Disappointing. We will look elsewhere next time we travel.

Reviewed By caido_ieLe Sporting is, essentially, a tennis club with a few rooms built on to the side. We stayed there because of its location on Cap Ferret – however there aren't many good local options for food/drinks (within walking distance) and the services provided at the hotel are fairly basic. That said, the sporting facilities and the pool are good, the rooms are perfectly nice, and they put on a load of laundry for us as we were mid-way through our cycling honeymoon and a bit stuck for clothes! If there's other accommodation further down the Cap, go for it. If not, this place should serve you quite nicely.

A place to avoid
Reviewed By walkabout901Le Cap Ferret is a lovely part of the Bassin d'Arcachon. The beaches and dunes are awesome. The restaurants are first class. The oysters maybe the best you can find. There are plenty of hotels and guesthouses. On internet, this Lodge seems very inviting. Be aware of a few major hickups.The garden is nowhere close to what it seems to have looked like in some earlier days if you compare the official internet photos with reality. It is simply abandonned, the owner building another house in the middle of the garden, and you will find yourself doubting if this is really is the place that is shown on internet. There a new rooms in the basement. Avoid bookking them. It is simply a rip-off and taking the guests for clowns. If you don't mind that there is no door between the toilet and the only room, a narrow lugubre bedroom with absolutely no further space for any amenities except a flatscreen, and you are seated virtually just two meters from the bed, then you may find this place ok. I recommend, however, that you spend the night in the car or donate the crazy amount to some foundation instead of paying for a place where you simply can't be. What a pity!

Hello and welcome O Bois Plage, we welcome you in a place which offers peace and serenity a few minutes away from(before) the Pond. 3 guest houses have a view(sight) on the swimming pool (warmed from April till October) and they possess quite an own garden with a table and two chairs to allow you to have lunch. The (continental) breakfasts will be served to you under the terrace or in room.

Accurately described by the lovely team at Alternative Aquitaine who we booked it through. Great, simple place to stay providing all the necessary kit you need for a base when spending most of the time out and about and at the beach. Helpful reception who recognise us each time we return. ESTIVEL Never Again
Reviewed By Michel_Menges2013We spent a week (from 2 to 9 September 2017) at the "Jardin Mauresque" in Arcachon (France) marketed by ESTIVEL whose slogan is "L'esprit Hotel", i.e. “The Hotel spirit”. However, the services offered by a Real Hotel are sorely lacking. The apartment (duplex) for six people is very bright, bright and well laid out. However we had to deplore: Concierge services lacking: Reception hours: during the week, only 26 hours are assured with a physical presence, on Wednesday, it is "absent subscriber". The rest of the time, a mobile number is available. When we called, we came across an answering machine. How in these conditions to report a problem for it to be solved. In a large hotel chain, if a problem / incident is not resolved within 15 minutes, the overnight stay is offered. On two occasions (3rd and 4th September) we observed that the posted time of opening of the concierge was not respected. Example on Monday at 10 am when we tried to return the Inventory sheet. Unclear communication: To the question "are the sheets provided?" sent by my wife by email, Valentine, commercial attaché and assistance operator from Booking.com answered in her email (dated August 17th, 2017 at 9: 52): "Blankets, pillows and mattresses are provided". So, we thought the sheets were also so and so did not take care to take them. Consequently, we had to pay 63,40 € to rent them. When checking in, we were not asked if we wanted WIFI. (Perhaps for fear of announcing that the service was paying). In this regard, it should be noted that the brochures given, the references of the network are totally erroneous. In addition, it was necessary to ask how to connect. Finally, no reaction to the comments left on the inventory. All paying services: In addition to the Wi-Fi already mentioned, the rental of sheets, towels, beds made on arrival, everything is charged. Take the case of a family of five members (including a baby), with a small dog that would opt for the end of stay cleaning (90 euros), the WIFI, the baby kit, the invoice amounts to more than 350 euros. Upon arrival NOTHING: no toiletries (soap, shower gel), dishes (dishwasher tablets, sponge), household (cloth to furniture) as in the first hotel. Various gaps and inadequate choices for development: - A faulty plug - Absence of seat / stool throughout the apartment except the 6 wrought iron tables - The wrought iron is good for the aesthetic but the chairs are not comfortable and leave traces on the white surfaces (especially those of the staircase). - Approximate household (reported in the inventory) - The cushions on the chairs are disembowelled as well as those of the sofa bed, in bad condition which loses even some of its springs (reported in the inventory). - If one appreciates the large quantity of plates, coffee cups, one deplores that there is only one lid XL, no ladle and one bowl for 6 people.
