We had pork gyros and greek salad that comes with pita (you definitely must try this one). The service was most of the time ok (because we ate here multiple times).As an advice, I would say you should get two pork gyros with pita instead of getting pork gyros on a plate. It's cheaper and you have at least the same quantity. :)

We are regular yearly travellers to Vassiliki for our windsurfing and mountain biking holidays in August. The Balkonaki restaurant is one of our absolute favourite places for dining. It is an absolutely unpretentious place where the staff, led by Aytigone, is cheerful and very efficient and the ladies operating the kitchen produce the most wonderful traditional Greek dishes.The upper balcony, from which presumably the restaurant takes its name, is an airy place overlooking the Vassiliki harbour and the surrounding mountain ranges in this small town of Agios Petros, only a few minutes by car or quad from Vassiliki.One of my favourite dishes is the stuffed tomatoes and sweet peppers, the meat is delicious in its many forms in the servings (from fillet to souvlaki to minced meat dishes) and the vegetables are always fresh and delicious. The Greek beer is rigorously chilled.Absolutely recommended, also ideal for large groups as they are able to provide many different table and seating arrangements.

Typical taverna in small village a little from coast and Nidri. You can taste grilled lamb, chicken and pork meat. You can select the parts directly from the grill and according the availability. Family runned service. We also tasted a starters (grilled feta) and they were good too.

Excellent friendly staff,locally sourced ingredients and incredible value,compared to tourist area around Vassiliki.If you have transport even just for a day it's worth venturing up in the countryside.This taverna we found whilst looking for somewhere we had been before(which had closed down).We parked in a storm drain and the waiter from the taverna and his friend helped to push us out,so we thought we should choose to eat there.The owner himself came out to talk with us,I commented on his lovely wine(,which I found out he made himself) he then proceeded to give us a free carafe plus filled a water bottle with it to take away.One of my sons and I had mixed grill for 2 (there was so much meat we couldn't finish it) the other two chose, lamb and a chicken grill, all excellent and locally reared.The bill inc drinks and complementary desert for 4 was 39.00 euros!We ate outside on the edge of the village square .The place doesn't look much from the outside but you won't be disappointed.

Forget this place: I would like to make a comment about the food, but we complained a lot just to order, and after one hours we did it.In the meantime we explained that having kids it was too long, in the meantime Greek people arrived 40 minutes later than us,Ordered and started to eat.So one hour to order, after one hour and half we got empty dishes, bread and fork.Good luck if you come here!I hope some food will come
