Things to do in Vamos
Good sweets and snacks, very good cocktails and very nice atmosphere in the garden with music! Looking forward to our next visit next week!Thank you very much for your review. We are looking forwrd to welcome you again!!
A little gem of a place, tucked away above a tiny cove. Access is a little interesting down a 2km steep, rough track. The surface is concrete so not a dirt track but I was still glad of having a 4x4.The taverna has no electricity. It opens around 11a.m. and shuts as dusk approaches. The staff don't speak much English but we had no problem with ordering using a bit of English and our few words of Greek. This is simple but delicious food and everything is made by the taverna. Goat are hunted from the hillside, they rear their own chicken, make their own honey and feta and grow their own vegetables. The only things imported are pasta and drinks.Prices are very reasonable and after your meal you can go for a dip in the small rocky cove below.
Just opened this year offering another pizza takeaway / restaurant In Vamos. Located in what was the old OTE office, Archontiko offers very affordable eating to take away or enjoy on the roadside patio. Reasonable choice of food and beers on the menu. As winter approaches there is a limited amount of indoor seating.

In the 4 days we were in Vamos, we spent a lot of time in this restaurant and although we mainly went there for drinks, they were always served with snacks and additional raki. Great local bar. Mainly frequented by the locals and people who have moved to live in Greece (expats). They were all so friendly and in a matter of 4 days we made some friends for life. Unbelievable. We would strongly recommend a visit to this place and the village of Vamos for those who want a typically Greek experience. Lovely people.

The famous film was shot in this village although there have been so many changes to the area outside the church that you can no longer recognise many scenes from the film

The food is in good quantity and quite good, especially if you are already famished. Quite a few vegetarian options are present. It was winter, an off season, so I guess that's why the restaurant was not heated, which subtracted from the eating experience. Service is friendly, and English is well understood.

This restaurant is superb. Definitely Michelin-Star quality in terms of variety, taste and ingredients. Make sure you order the more unusual dishes (roast chestnut stew, stuffed aubergine/eggplant, stuffed mushrooms). But standard dishes (grilled chops, etc.) also excellent.

We have been to many many Greek restaurants, but this one is really special. Great service, live music and also really good food. Rarely do these come together. Bravo Parasia. You should be proud of the excellent experience you can offer people. Alexis and Emma. Xx
