Reviews on Asian food in Mechelen, Antwerp Province, Belgium. The picturesque town of Mechelen, a hidden Flemish gem, sits between Brussels and Antwerp. Students of the world-renowned Carillon bell-ringing school provide an atmospheric soundtrack for sipping coffee at a sidewalk café in one of the town's charming squares. Many pedestrian areas make this a delightful town to promenade about, admiring hundreds of listed buildings and monuments, many dating back to 16th century. Highlights include Gothic and Baroque churches and the famed St Rumbold's Tower.

Excited to have a new Thai restaurant in the centre of town; location is excellent and the restaurant was buzzing with people. Difficult to get attention as everyone arrived around 7pm and the staff could not easily cope. Eventually we managed to order the only wine they have (the wine list is in preparation, and there are no wines yet in the cellar) - "Today it's the O-Sud" - unrecognised by any of us, and neither by Vivinio. It was truly horrible and I'm not sure how my palate will recover. Later we played safe and ordered the advertised Mai Thai cocktails, but they were so strong they were hard to drink too. Starter was the usual mix, but greasy and tasteless. As if from packets. Mains we had quite a selection. massuman curry okay, pad thai, sweet vegetables, scampi rice. Tolerable but nothing to tempt a repeat visit. This restaurant needs a better plan on seating and food timing. And a chef. Sorry.

We recently had there a very good meal! We have been there before but this time the quality certainly improved. It was tasty and had a mixture of various flavours nicely blended together. The portions were good, and service friendly and very fast. Good price quality!

It's the closest Chinese to my home. I have eaten there once, the food was ok, the prices were not exaggerated either. However we had the impression that everything was a little too greasy. In comparison to other like minded restaurants, this was too heavy for our stomachs.

Welcome to De Vleeshalle. This monumental space, which was once home to the old Mechelen meat market, is now a culinary hotspot in the heart of the city. Twelve stall holders and a pop-up food stall ply their daily trade. The taste makers create fresh dis
Has opened recently and we have been impressed after our first visit. The venue is a 19th century meat market (indoor) that has been refurbished. The food stalls offer various styles of food (from burgers to Vietnamese) of good quality. At the centre is a nice bar offering a great selection of drinks. Very relaxed atmosphere.

First time visiting with friends and I already thinking when to return again. The chef is really friendly and always up for talk and explanation about the food.Asking what taste you like to eat and then make sushi to your liking. This restaurant is pure sushi and not much of those fried rice or any western sushi restaurant. So it's really great to eat here. The price is good if you take the all you can eat menu or eat with plates. Also very fresh fish. One of the best sushi I ever ate in Belgium.Definitely worth to return.
