I went to this delightful Italian restaurant many times. Time for a review about it! Al Taglio is very nicely situated, not far off the Grote Markt of Lier. When you are lucky and you can dine outside, you have a really gorgeous view on the waterfront and the City Hall. When you arrive, you are kindly welcomed, though the staff can sometimes be distracted because of how busy they are. Last time we were escorted to a table by the window. Although the restaurant occupies two floors of an old mansion, it has a really cosy feeling. We started our evening with the Antipasto Rustica all'italiana. Guaranteed value for your money! It was delicious and the portions are more than enough: four plates of antipasti for our group of eight were sufficient enough as a starter. Some of us were already full and the main course was still to come! The restaurant has an extensive range of pizzas and fresh pastas. So much that it is difficult to make a choice because it all looks so scrumptious! This time I chose the pizza diavola piccante. I can really recommend it. It has an amazing crunchy crust. I haven't been able to eat it completely because of how big it was, but it certainly tasted good! Although I was full, I still felt like ordering a dessert, because the tiramisu here is of the best I ever ate. It is quite a large one too, so no complaints from me. I want to give the staff an enormous shout out, because they are really amazing. They are nice, discreet and serve the meals professionally. Al Taglio is highly recommended: they will definitely see us again!

It's a bit of a mishmash decoration wise, but if you don't mind sitting in a Westwing-catalog-cum-diy (we certainly didn't) there's some very decent grub to be eaten! Whenever I go somewhere new I try to have the shrimp croquettes because it's something that's not that simple to make. The crust was very light but the filling could have done with a bit more shrimps. Luckily, there were some extra thrown in on the side salad, so that helped. For mains, me and my son had the burger while my daughter opted for a pasta dish and my wife settled for a veggie "tarte flambée" (think pizza). I heard nothing but satisfied noises and I have to say that I really liked the bun the burger was served in. But the real stars were the french fries (although us Belgians deserve the credits): the best I had in a long time! Will we be back? You betcha!

Het verschil zit 'm in de details. Exquise pizza's met dagverse handgesneden topingrediënten. Ovenwarm aan huis geleverd volgens de regels van de kunst. Of met de glimlach aangereikt in onze sfeervolle afhaalzaken.

I heard stories about the best pizzeria in town for years.We decided to go check it out for a weekend lunch.We were the only customers in a large, clean, simply decorated (bit like American diner) Italian restaurant. It has a large terrace, but it was too cold at the time to sit outside. Menu is extensive. Maybe too much choice?My husband took a pizza quatro stagione, I took a calzone. Both were way to big, soggy and filled with half raw onions. Staff was very friendly, but friendliness couldn't make up for the bad food. It was not expensive, but even if it was free we wouldn't go back.I hope we were just unlucky, since the staff was so friendly. Passing by, I don't see as many customers anymore as a few years ago.

It was a really disappointing experience. The salad bar was dried out. The drinks were warm and without gas. The mozarella starter was without cherry tomatoes. The hot and spicy pizza did not have chili peppers. And all pizzas were not baked sufficiently. The waitresses were so nervous they were over friendly. The manager was arrogant. One can expect much more for these prices.
