I grew up in an area known for its Indian food, but even though the food was excellent, there was never really a fine-dining experience. Curries were bought as takeaways, samoosas a quick snack on the run, filled rotis the perfect hangover-fixer. Eating at Bombay Palace changed my perception completely.
Everything about this restaurant is top-class, from the service to the food. The decor is welcoming and the service, in my experience, is better than any other restaurant I've been to in Linz. I dined here with my son, who had decided not to have a starter. I ordered the samosa, and was asked if we'd like to share it. We did. The samosa was cut in half and each half presented beautifully (and individually garnished) on two separate plates. I have dined at Bombay Palace before, so I knew what to expect. My son was absolutely blown away by the whole experience. Best Service. Best Curry. It's a bit pricy, but it's worth every cent.
Tip: it's advisable to book.

We enjoyed lunch in Schloss Traun's inner yard on a very hot day - still the stylish white umbrellas kept us nice and cool. As the lunch menu seemed both tasty and a very good deal, we opted for it and were not disappointed. Food was very good, service attentive and friendly, and we had an excellent time.
Will happily come back!

I would definitely go there again, the staff is very friendly and works fast, you don't wait more than 10 mins for your order even if there are 200+ people (no kidding), large variety of food, all fresh! Just go for it! And the prices are pretty good!

The food was nice, mostly austrian, you can find here a nice burger or steak, schnitzel, salads, austrian desserts; but because of the service I wouldn´t go back. They serve drinks with expired shelf life, hope with the food it´s different. When I noticed and complained, the ´junior boss´ made no effort to appologize.

We went for dinner three times in our two week holiday, that is how good it was! The menu is quite small but the daily specials are made up of fresh seasonal products. The salads were phenomenal, really fresh and tasty. No meat dishes but the pasta, pizza and gnocchi were great!

Coming from South Africa where the smoking laws are generally very respected and smokers are considerate and mindful, I am always amazed at how thick skinned some Austrians are! In this Gasthof, you have to access the non-smoking dining room by walking through the smokers section first, which is absolutely preposterous! When I had a moan about this, I was informed coldly, that I could have accessed it by walking around the entire building and entering through the back.Gosh, why didn't I think of that? The food portions are massive, everybody took home their leftovers in tinfoil, service was extremely brisk, with the waitress Barking orders and hurrying us along, as the chef didn't work beyond 14.00pm. Would not go there again.

Austrian hospitality at its finest Linz is right around the corner, the Salzkammergut is quite nearby, it's just half an hour's drive to the Vitalwelt holiday region in the Hausruckviertel, and the Mühlviertel lies only stone's throw away - the Ansfelden South Rosenberger rest stop was built right at the intersection of popular holiday destinations. The influence of its location certainly makes itself felt in the menu, dominated by local traditional home fare but also offering a glimpse across Austria's borders and of the Mediterranean: in our Pizza & Pasta Restaurant, the only pizzeria along Austria's motorways, pizzas are prepared directly in front of our guests and baked crunchy fresh in an open wood-fired oven.

Initially we were hesitant about coming here. Although many of the reviews on TripAdvisor were quite good - there were a couple recent unpleasant ones listed on their Facebook page with respect to service.
After some thought we decided to focus on the positive reviews listed on TripAdvisor and made our way over for dinner.
Suffice it to say we were SO glad we did.
Not only was the food fantastic but the owner - and his wife - made us feel right at home. In fact, it was unquestionably the best service we've had since being here this year.
And for our English-speaking friends:
Although the menu is in German - despite the fact that most of the dishes names are essentially the same in either language - our host was quite fluent in English and more than accommodating.
The food was delicious, ample and more than reasonably priced. And the service was outstanding.
We HIGHLY recommend Zaffran!
