It is a nice restuarant with certainly good food. Only problem is that if you have to go there during the evening and sit inside, you might end up smelling food when getting out of the place after finishing your dinner. For the rest no problem at all. Recommended!

Found this facility in an attempt to taste seafood, but were somewhat surprised by the format - fast food and self-service. In general, the food is not very healthy, because everything is fried in large quantities of oil, but fans of the fish-n-chips would appreciate. Our mistake was that we just took a dish with a baguette, but it would be better if we took a ready-made set with a salad. Not the worst place to eat in Ankara, but rather cheap.Another drawback is the large queues.

The selection of cold and hot mezze is mouth watering. You are first presented with a large tray of cold mezze. The eggplant/yogurt and oregano/parsley are outstanding. This is followed by a large tray of hot mezze. The baked prawns are to die for. You can definitely make a meal of cold & hot mezze. Entrees included a selection of two or three freshly grilled fish. Definitely have the eggplant desert.

This is a rather quiet place to wine and dine since there is no noisy live music as some of the similar places offer. There are various appetizers (mezzes) and specialties or warm starters like shrimps in jug. Be careful not to exaggerate the starters so that you can enjoy fresh fish dishes.

You have to book in advance beacuse its packed full everyday, every season. There are open air tables in the front as well as in the back garden where smoking is allowed. The no-smoking area is inside. There are is a wide range of mezes. All the mezes, hot and cold are delicious and most are characteristic only to this restaurant. The staff is very helpful during the process of choosing the mezes, describing the ingredients. The service is fast. Dont miss it.

We happened by this wonderful restaurant on our stopover in Ankara and we donât speak a word of Turkish. Seref Yazar and his staff were so cordial, gracious and patient with us. We had a wonderful meal of eggplant, fried and grilled calamari, and grilled octopus. So wonderful and the desserts were heavenly-not sure what they were exactly but one was a white pillow of sweetness and the other a honey cake . Thank you for making our dinner in Ankara so special!

We offer decor and ambiance with an appetizing menu combining taste with haste. Despite the fact that fish markets are becoming impoverished every day, at Yelken Balık Restaurant the best jewels from the sea (such as the famed turbot, squid and lobster, a
I went to this place with my friends again. The taste of the different types of fish, service speed and friendly treatment of restaurant employees and the boss, Ejder will make us to stop again here many times. I strongly recommend Yelken to everybody who wants to taste delicious fish meals.

This is hands down one of the finest seafood restaurants in Ankara. The range of the menu - especially the mezzes - is vast, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is a huge plus. It's vision is to attain a more modern approach to the traditional "balıkcı" restaurants, and they've attained this. However, beware of a double billing standard for foreigners. Tips are not typically included in bills in Turkey, however this place does add 10% for tips into the bill, and only for foreigners. Note that it is clearly designated as such, which seems so-so fair. But the duo practice does take away a bit from the aftertaste, even if the service staff deserve much more than the 10%.

Restaurant has the reputation as expensive but the best fish restaurant in Ankara. It was a treat and business luncheon, so I can't speak to the expense. But the fish, at the opening of Turkey's fishing season was fabulous. The grilled calamari was also excellent. The appetizers were a travel tour of Turkey. It was surprisingly empty of other dinners. Disconcerting, but somehow the waiters didn't make me feel like they were hovering. Well done.
