Andalucia, Spain Food Guide: 6 Pub food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Jerez De La Frontera

Reviews on Pub food in Jerez De La Frontera, Andalucia, Spain. Southwest of Seville, Jerez is a well-heeled place. It’s the home of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and its famous dancing horses; if you’re on a budget or can’t be there for a formal performance, it’s worth dropping in to catch a morning training session. The other major reason to visit Jerez is to sample its most famous product—sherry. You can do this at a number of bodegas associated with the world’s best-known brands, including Bodegas Tio Pepe, The House of Sandeman, Jerez, and Pedro Domecq. They’ll soon have you knowing your amontillado from your oloroso. There’s also an Alcázar, dating back to the time of the Almohads, which features a small mosque, now the chapel of Santa María Real.

Great atmosphere that appeared to be mostly locals. Loads of bar space and plenty of cocktails and drinks to choose from. The band playing this night were a form of flamenco rock that strangely worked. Doesnt get busy till at least 10pm. Good times. Oh and they also do the usual tapas.

Every time we walked by, Con-Bulli was busy. So we decided that all those locals could not be wrong. It is a tiny little gem of a place! Our host was very charming, and handled my "broken" Spanish, very well. The tapas were tasty and filling, and the choice of wines and Sherries, excellent, for the size of the bar.

I am very glad we escaped from the hotel and stumbled across this little restaurant just 200 metres away. I had dorada a la plancha and my partner had entrecote steak; both were cooked to perfection and were reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient, and the room, although nearly full, was surprisingly quiet for a Spanish restaurant at midday! Recommended.

La Moderna is a traditional looking bar where locals and visitors mix well. At the end of the bar, in the back, you can see part of the city wall (Medieval, I think). The staff is very friendly.Suggestion: try the toasts with home-made "salmorejo". Simply delicious!
