Reviewed By Muller-reizen-op-padI had a party over there, it was awesome. Nice location, friendly staff, good ambience, as well for young as for older people. There's a fireplace to sit by, there's a bar, a dancefloor, enough space for a DJ, a restaurant, a terrace and it is a small hotel.

Reviewed By charlesandlauraExtremely well fitted out, far exceeded expectations excellent bed, bedding, toiletries, towelling gown, lighting etc. Would definitely stay again, outstanding value for money This is our third cycling holiday in the Netherlands.We have sort of got used to frosted glass toilet doors opening onto the bedroom, we have seen this in 5 star hotels. What we have never come across is not being able to close the door from the inside, no handle. So basically either your partner closes you in and helps you out, or you use the toilet with the door open. Not the British approach

B&B Het Gasthuys is located in the old and origional centre of Amerongen. 'Kasteel Amerongen' is one of the most inspiring castles in the area and is located just in front of ouw B&B. The B&B has been build in 1850 and has been restored fully in 2012. Two rooms are available for our guests. Both rooms are non-smoking. Their own bathroom (shower and toilet) is on the same floor. Breakfast is (ofcourse) included. For cyclists are two bikes free available. You can also rent a MTB in one of the bicyleshops in the village to concur the hils in the woods bearby Amerongen.
Very nice house and location
Reviewed By rudolfs495We shared the large romantic room upstairs with three persons and had a wonderful stay. Thanks for the hospitality and the suggestions for a better restaurant. We were offered to use bicycles for free to go to village 10km away. But eventually we went to "De Rode Leeuw" for a very nice diner.

Ontspannend weekend weg.
Reviewed By Hermans1964Terug gekomen van een prachtig lang weekend Amerongen en omgeving. Wat hebben wij vier dagen genoten van de mooie wandelingen en fietsroutes in de omgeving van Amerongen. Maar vooral, wat hebben wij een ontspannen en verzorgde tijd bij B&B de Smederij mogen doorbrengen. Het huis is prachtig en straalt zo'n fijne sfeer uit. De gastheer en gastvrouw zijn zo zeer attent en je wordt in de watten gelegd met heerlijk ontbijt, smaakvolle diners, heerlijke wijnen en port. De slaapkamer en badkamer zijn keurig netjes, heerlijke bedden en een supermoderne badkamer. Een zeer ontspannen sfeer en de prachtige achtergrondmuziek in huis. Veel mogelijkheden voor wandelen en fietsen in de nabije omgeving.
