The best schnitzel ever!
Reviewed By Niklas MA lovely Gasthaus with superb staff and old vs new charm. The food is wonderful and the local beer cold and tasty. We always stop by Gratsch Gasthaus on our way. The chef Ulli and his cooks and staff will surely make you feel welcome and heart and soul is put into the food. He also makes special vegetarian dishes. Also they speak good English so you don’t have to be German to make yourself understood.

Tolle Seminartage in der Lüneburger Heide
Reviewed By akueontourIch war 2 Tage anlässlich eines Seminars Gast auf dem Glockenhof. Bis auf veraltete Betten und Gluckergeräusche Nachts aus den Rohrleitungen kann ich nichts negatives sagen. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und die Bewirtung auf einem 5 Sterne Standard. Man kann sich dort einfach wohlfühlen.

Basic place, not suitable for holidays
Reviewed By mveen1I stayed here on a Friday night. The place is in the middle of the country side in a small little hamlet. Quit, sounds of nature and peaceful. Eichenkrug is your typical basic to the bone type German village Hotel. Cheap and no luxury. Everyhing about Eichenkrug is dated, but it that also comes with its charm. The room is OK, cheap bed, cheap desk, cheap closet and super dated bathroom. But all is well maintained and clean. Fluctuating shower temperature however is a major annoyance...... I also ate dinner here. This is not recommendable. Although it might look good in the pictures, I found it way to salty and greased up. A German schnitzel of 2-3 mm thick is not a German Schnitzel. Got the strong impression the Schnitzel was fried and not backed. Vegatable were coming from a can, french fries I can also get at Mc D.... For dinner I recommend to go somewhere else. Although they advertise as a holiday let, I would not stay here for that. To spent 1 night is OK, but 4-7 days..... That's hard work. In the end it all depends on what your budget is, but it is not for me. Service is excellent and the people are super friendly, kind and helpful. I try not to return.
