We stayed with our two young kids (ages 1.5 and 3.5) and had a great time. There is plenty to do with this age! From the pool splash pad / kids area to the beach, we had a blast. We stayed just in a hotel room with a balcony and it was perfect. There’s a bathtub which was appreciated with little ones! We are at natural slice for pizza one night and it was good… we sat outside and got to enjoy the life music. Food wasn’t amazing, but it was perfect for kids. One big thing I wanted to note is the playground! There’s one walking distance from the hotel that we loved. The bus driver told us there’s another one (a little father away that you can bus to, but we didn’t have time to try it)! Anyways, I wanted to include some pictures of this because it’s big and perfect for young kids and babies. Overall, this was a great visit. The rooms are update and clean. The view is beautiful and it’s a great hotel for kids. We’ll be back.

This is really a standard hotel in this type of category, but it's lifted due to the lovely reception staff and the wonderful people who work on the breakfast area. It was expensive compared to other places we stayed, but there's not as much choice on the island so we took what was available. We'd have been happy with this place if it had been around $100 cheaper.

As a traveler who only considers a real vacation as being one that requires a passport, my expectations were glass half empty. After 2 years with no travel, my wife and I stayed at another "famous" US-based RC resort last August and were less than thrilled with the property and the service. While I really wanted to get back international for a week-long spring time trip, we opted for the drivable Amelia Island RC. Based on our immediately previous experience and the ongoing hospitality challenges in general, I was really just happy to have a week off. However, I could not have been more pleased with the room, restaurants, public areas, pool and especially the service. We booked in club level which is an area where RC always excels, and this property was no exception. The lunchtime food options could have been more varied, but everything was great and the other servings had super options. The wine options were stellar, especially the Stags Leap Artemis Cab. The ladies managing the operation were all top notch. Room service was great as well and I never expect much there, but I ordered the same thing a couple times. The standout was the chef's table at Salt. It was the most gourmet I've ever eaten and again service, service service. Poolside Cabana, pool bar, the list goes on. The overall experience was so good that when it came time to plan a summer trip with our kids and my parents, we decided to head back. We get there this weekend and couldn't be looking forward to it more. While I'd like to start using my passport again someday, it's great to know that such an incredible option is just a drive away!

If you’re traveling with a pet, you’ll be put in a 1st floor room, we had a king suite w/ sofa bed. There was dog hair everywhere from previous occupants. Sofa, chair and dining furniture had dog hair embedded in fabric and vinyl chairs even though they charge $125 pet sanitization fee. I pulled out the sofa bed and to my unliking dust and dog hair accumulated from god knows how long. Oh and by the way, no sheets, blankets , or pillows For the sofa bed. Along with 2 towels and 1 bar or soap for 3 occupants. None of the hard surfaces were sanitized because there were greasy fingerprints all over the tables, kitchen cabinets and dishes, utensils were greasy. Upon my going to the reception area to bring to the attention of the so named “Manager“ Robyn who upon my complaints kept repeating “sorry ma’am, yes ma’am with no immediate resolution other than waiting for a “clean room” to open up the following day after 4pm. Good thing we were at the beach most of the day and then returned to have to move all our belongings to a second floor room. The best is while I was at the reception desk complaining to Robyn about the cleanliness of my room, a young gentleman waiting in-line began to belligerently communicating his dismay of my complaints. Robyn had no clue how to diffuse her disgruntled customer so I summoned the local police. I’d you’re from the North stay away from this place, my daughter who is gay and with me on this trip was told God is praying for you! The people who work here are clearly biased against any form of person that doesn’t fit the Bible scripture. First and last time in Amelia Island. There are plenty of other places happy to take my money and provide excellent service.

The rooms are small and bathrooms are very outdated and pretty gross; especially at this price point. Sink faucets were on backwards. One tub faucet was broken. The toilet barely flushed. No where to put your things. There is a small wardrobe. The safe kept locking before I could put in a code so it wasn't usable. The chairs face the bed, so you can only watch TV in/on the bed. They did nothing special for our anniversary. First afternoon snack was a mushy meatball thing with pineapple slices. They serve wine, beer and soda. They do provide plenty of bottled water a daily treat and beach towels. The daily breakfast was ok, nothing special. Weird and wet looking scrambled eggs. I did order scrambled egg whites and turkey sausage. I believe the turkey sausage was microwaved as it was tough. We rented the bikes with lunch and wine for an extra $125. The lunch was very haphazard. The package stated the lunch would be packed for travel. I was wondering how gumbo would work and it didn't. We ate the gumbo in the Cafe area. The sandwiches were boxed and put in a plastic bag you get from the grocery store. I had in mind a picnic basket :(. There was no basket on the bikes so you could carry the lunch, stop somewhere and enjoy it with your wine. Just rent bikes from a local company and go back out and drive to get lunch! We really did enjoy the bike ride through Fort Clinch. It was like riding through a rainforest on this day. For the price we paid, I was very disappointed, but it was in a great location. If we were to go back, I think we would do an airbnb.

Spent three days and nights in this Inn, in a clean two room suite. It had a microwave, full size fridge, bath/shower combo, and 2 TVs (and of course, a coffee machine)! But, what made it so special was the staff, and the attention they give to their guests. We were greeted by Mindy Thompson at the front desk and she took care of every request, during our stay, with a smile...so gracious, and definitely went the extra mile. Cobie (Jadeja) helped us with items to make our stay more comfortable (suitcase stand, extra hangers, etc.) and always with a great smile. Even though housekeeping did not usually give full service to the rooms for a three night stay, Stephanie, from housekeeping, kept the sand off our floor, replaced towels upon request, and offered take care of anything we needed to keep the room clean. Then there was Grady, in the kitchen, and Jordan who also should be praised for their hospitality. In fact, the breakfast was simple but very good, prepared by Grady, with the assistance of Cobie. The Inn always had coffee, tea, hot cocoa, water with citrus slices in it and wrapped fruit in the lobby. Olivier, one of the mangers from the Innisfree Hotel across the street, agreed to an extra hour for us at checkout time, in case we needed it. The only problem was that there were not enough tables at breakfast and we had to wait 20 minutes. However, they are renovating and I am certain there may be more tables soon. Can't wait to see the renovations when we return. Also, there was two pieces of wood with nails lying on the ground, right outside our backdoor to the pool. They were removed when I mentioned it to the engineer, and they could have been put there by prior guests. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Seaside Amelia Inn and hope to return next year.

Better than the other options nearby! It was late and I was tired and stopped in to two other hotels on my way in to Fernandina Beach. They were expensive so I thought I'd try my luck further down the road. I always try to stay at a Comfort Inn if I can and this visit was another example of why. Clean, comfortable room, in a good location and cheaper than the other options - plus free breakfast and parking!!
