A very accomplished fish restaurant which I would heartedly recommend. I started with the smoked salmon followed by plaice. The freshness of the catch is self-evident and the quality of the preparation and cooking was sublime. Even so I still had room for the lime pannacotta ginger crumb which rounded off the meal perfectly.Booking is pretty much essential, we were a party of five.

We had not booked a table and took our chances on a Thursday evening for dinner. The service was pleasant, as you would expect in Northumberland, and the food of a high quality. Some might find it an advantage, but I do not feel that a restaurant should allow dogs or other animals where food is served. Perhaps an animal free area might be provided, but we were not offered this,or asked if we minded sharing the area with dogs. I admit the dogs in question were well behaved, but thatâs not the point.

Formally Sea Salt Amble (still owned and managed by Jonny & Julie)
We came here again after a long-ish time, just did not get around to visit. It was, as the last time superb eating, with a friendly reception, and the chef did cater for my companionâs dietary requirements. The seafood was cooked to perfection, the Sancerre wine we chose was a very good accompaniment and both our desserts were a very good closing item, so our evening out was a success. All this for a very reasonable price.Weâll be back......

From outside array of cakes looks inviting..on entering place is crammed and not the quaint tearooms but a caf!!! tables have large milk jugs for everyone to use....I cannot describe the cake ...was victoria sponge...well never had cake like it before, it didn't have buttercream or fresh cream....just what the cream was I don't know ...so ate sponge .....but they made a good cup of tea....honestly have been reviewing on TA for many years and this was poor in such a lovely town.

Visited here many times in the past and it never fails to impress! A very warm friendly welcome and amazing traditional food cooked to a very high standard. The potions are plentiful and tasty . I had the liver, bacon and onions and my husband had chicken and leek pie. Following that we had spotted dick and custard. Superb!! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone â¤ï¸

Only been here twice it need to come more! The first time was for breakfast which was delicious! The second time was for cocktails, which is a night I can barely remember! Mick the owner is extremely friendly and professional. I think he deserved a medal for putting up with us girls and better still, putting up with me after far too many cocktails! Great place all round.

Jasper's the Foodie venue where food is cooked fresh to order using the best local ingredients by owner, and Chef, Ryan Humphrys. Lunch or Dinner, dining at Jasper's will tantalise the senses with fragrent aromas and soft ambience of gentle Jazz...
Great atmosphere in this cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The fish dishes we had were outstanding especially the whole plaice. The chef really knows how to cook fish and my request for not too much garlic was delivered. The wines were good value and our choice, a Sauvignon Blanc was at the correct temperature. The bread and butter pudding I had for dessert included Cointreau and raspberries and this elevated the dish.My only slight reservation is that the menu is rather chaotic and could do with clarification and refining. However this really did not affect our enjoyment of the meal.

Cafe and bed and breakfast serving excellent quality locally sourced Northumbrian produce.
We were recommended this cafe and it didn't disappoint. The coffee & cakes were delicious and as it was sunny we were able to sit outside in the lovely courtyard. The staff were very hard working in this busy cafe. Thank you!!

A small bistro offering imaginative menus using high quality local produce. We have a small menu to allow everything to be cooked freshly to order with fish, seafood, meat and vegetarian options; our seasonal menu can be found on our website. We only open
Ate in the bistro whilst staying in the post office on a short break . You donât have to be staying here to eat but you do need to book , this place is too good to be relying on walk in traffic.A small but concise menu focusing on some great seafood, the Post Office do pay so considerable attention to sourcing excellent ingredients for all the food they serve. Itâs a small and comfortable place with a single evening serving so it does have that homily feeling , more like a friends for dinner than anything else , Providing your friends can cook as well as Helen.Unfortunately few of mine can .Hats off again to the Old Post office.Thoughtful review, many thanks it really is appreciated. Small, comfortable and like dinner with friends is just what we want to achieve, so all good. Best wishes Helen and Rich
