Horrific
Reviewed By StylashThis place is disgusting. We were in two filthy rooms before we got a third that was also filthy but less so. There wasn’t a hotel in a 20 mile radius that wasn’t booked, or we would have been out of there. On the second night, our toilet started running so loudly I couldn’t sleep. I went to the front desk, and she said it would have to wait. When I pressed her, she came down to look at it. She ended up accidentally fixing it, so that was a small win. I will never stay at another Best Western for the rest of my life!

Reviewed By markX5377CUThis hotel is a great value with a wonderful staff. The only full-service hotel I know of in Alton. The pub has a great patio to hang out at, and the food was unique and very tasty, pretty much perfect stay!

Avoid at all costs
Reviewed By sy11636573The hotel was filthy and smelled bad. The lobby smelled like stale beer and cigarettes. This hotel is NOT handicap accessible. The room smelled like sour milk and the room was gross. Their was stuff on the floor and it looked like someone threw up on it in several places. All the furniture had either stains, food or other things on them. The carpet was so sticky that our shoes were sticking to it. There was cigarette burns in the comforter and on the sink in the bathroom and on the bathroom floor. Dirt, hair and other things along the edges of the room and hallways. There was a size sticker from someones clothing on the doorframe of the bathroom door. The only thing it had going for it was that there were no bugs and the air conditioner worked. At check out they tried to tell us we had a balance of $42 and when we denied this she said we’ll you will have to wait 30 minutes for the morning person to come in and fix it. My wife said as filthy as the room was and the fact they claimed there were no other rooms available they were not getting another dime. When we walked back in from dropping off our bags she claimed it was all fixed.

Less Than Expected!
Reviewed By doloress645The hotel is average, appeared to not have been updated in years. Due to Covid 19, the in-door pool was closed. There was no hot breakfast, instead, frozen breakfast sandwich's (that had to be requested at the front desk), yogurt, packaged pastries, juice, cereal, milk and coffee. The room room was ok, beds comfortable, room appeared to be clean. That is until my grandbaby dropped an item behind the nightstand and found a used condom and other grim behind it. I was appalled! Especially since my 9 year old grandbaby found it. I took a picture (see attached) and marched to the front desk. I showed the picture to the clerk, then asked to speak with the manager. The manager was very apologetic and stated the rooms are supposed to be cleaned and checked by a supervisor. Obviously, the condom was missed! The manager offered another room, but I did not want to go through the same thing of finding it unclean. She then said she would have the room thoroughly cleaned, which it was. She then reimbursed me the payment for the whole weekend. I always carry Clorox disinfectant wipes when I travel, and wipe down everything on the airplane and in the hotel room. The condom was way beyond!!! Even if the normal cleaning is vacuuming around furniture in the room, a THROUGH CLEANING of the room should be done at some point!!!

Reviewed By asglobetrotterOverall it was very clean establishment with very friendly staff. Great breakfast options, a few more options than a regular complimentary breakfast I've seen. A little issue with the Shower curtain but the room was clean otherwise.
