As usual the food and wine were excellent. Some new faces for me in the staff on the night. Place full to the brim. The tomato soup, lamb shank and red wine definitely up to the mark. Absoljutely stuffed and could not contemplate a dessert. Good food, good drinks, good company and very pleasant and helpful staff. What more could anyone want?

Our moto 'Great food, service & ambiance' are the 3 things we belive lead to a great dining experience. The Vestry was taken over in 2012 by Gordon and Brigitta who have many years of experience in catering and who have also won various Local Culinary Awards.
Had been once before, wasn’t massively impressed., it was an evening time. Went back last Sunday afternoon and huge improvement, the food was much better, well cooked roasted meats and lovely veggies.
The waitress was lovely and the whole ambience was great too, a nice chilled way to pass a few hours.
We had a lovely little baby with us and she was well looked after too, so very family friendly.
Can recommend a visit.

Great food & service, do deals with free wine, need to show more restaurants in Gran Alacant to help other travellers
As it was very heavy rain my son went up to steak house for a takeaway. Never had a worse meal in my 65 yrs. Order incorrect so we sorted that, then we came to eat it. 3 T bone steaks dry and tuff and totally inedible. 3 filletts steaks ask for as medium well done, one was a rib eye NOT filletts and as all the family in the trade i know my cuts of meat. One came bright red and bloody almost blue steak. Rib eye dry. Chips dry and tastless. On complaining that this meal was inedible and cost over 140 euro we where given the 10 euro tip back and replaced 2 filletts. Which my son had to have cooked twice under his supervision or these would have been the same. Do youself a favore and save money and go to The Belfry or Darby chippy at least you will be able to eat it.

Called here for coffee and was very happily surprised with the large inside of what had seemed such small premises. The inside was spotless, empty well before the Spanish lunch time. The tables were already set in the cafetaria and looked very welcoming. At the back of the building was another more formal eating area and it looked an excellent place to eat out at night. We were sorry to be only calling for our drinks, but we intend to go back in the evening.

Went for dinner tonight with our friends who ate also great fans of here. The starter soup was beautiful & creamy with a touch of cream for added richness, the toasted bread & aloli was yummy (prefer to the previously bread rolls & butter). Starters were lovely bean stew, stuffed pepper & a lovely blue cheese quiche. Two of us had hake (I prefer the cream sauce to the butter) & 2 had skate all cooked to perfection, beautiful veg star of the show was the red cabbage (which I normally detest). Lemon cheesecake which was light & sharp as it should be rounded out another wonderful meal. Well done guys another beautiful meal spent with great friends.

Angelin was the fourth restaurant on the Almoradi, Ruta Gastronomical. (others tried have been Silvano, El Cruz and El Buey)
The Restaurant is a lovely building, clean and with good staff. This was the first occasion that no English menu was available, but no problems we managed OK. We had starters of ham and cheese with bread and Mussels Marinere. Surprisingly most of the starters were quite pricey, some almost as much as the mains. My 12 mussels were costly at €12, especially as 4 had disappeared leaving just the shells. Have had far better.
The mains were Fillet steaks with pepper sauce, lamb chops and Merluza. The waiter went to great lengths to enquire how we wished the steaks cooked, ranging from red through every shade of pink to light brown. " asked for medium plus plus! and one medium. The medium cooked one was correct, the plus plus ones were cooked just the same as number 1. Lots of blood and not acceptable. Both were sent back and returned 10 minutes later with the sides re-sealed but just as bloody inside. I'm sorry if the chef doesn't like to cook them pink turning light brown but these two customers wanted them cooked that way and their meals were spoiled. A selection of Postres were delicious, but compared to our 3 other Ruta restaurants, Angelin was nothing special at all. Prices were €40p.p. with 2 reasonable bottles of wine.
We were quite disappointed as we took two other friends who had been quite interested in our Ruta adventures.

Had an excellent meal in this high quality restaurant. Lovely setting, good staff quick to bring an English menu, good wine choices including the house red. All 3 courses produced well presented, well thought out and cooked food. Would most definitely be putting Restaurante Silvino onto our favourites list.
